Amazon.com Review
Impress your guests by poaching your eggs to perfection with this egg-poaching insert from Nordic Ware. The tray, which fits any 10- to 12-inch skillet, gives you the ideal receptacle for poaching and shaping four eggs at once. And cleanup is easy, as the nonstick surface guarantees a mess-free poaching experience. Now you never have to worry that your neighborhood-famous eggs Benedict will feature eggs that look more like melted butter than poached perfection. --Rivers Janssen

3 out of 5 stars Does an okay job.   September 3, 2008
It does what it is supposed to do - sit inside a pan and hold some eggs while they poach. I was a little disappointed with how much the eggs stuck to this poacher, even though i had sprayed it with an olive oil spritzer ahead of time. Given the non-stick coating, it shouldn't need much oil, and I'd prefer not to add even more fat to an already cholesterol-laden food.

There are no instructions with this poacher as to how long to steam the eggs, which was also a bit disappointing, so now I'm just playing around a bit to find the right amount of time. Note: 4 minutes gave me pretty solid yolks.

4 out of 5 stars Nordic egg poacher   September 1, 2008
This Nordic egg poacher is very easy to use in the microwave.
I just spray the receptacle with Pam, and when it's done I just
flop it over onto an English muffin.

5 out of 5 stars Great Value   August 18, 2008
I love this egg poacher. It's affordable and works really well. I like that you can make 4 eggs at once if you want to, and the triangular shape is great and easy to work with.

5 out of 5 stars No More Feathering   April 20, 2008

I was searching for an egg poacher and was glad to find that I could get one without having to purchase another skillet. This works great and all the eggs cook evenly without any feathering, waste or mess. I add a little butter or cooking spray to the egg chambers and they come out without any sticking. Butter works best. I use a silicon spatula to remove my eggs. They don't stick to the pan, but they don't slide out without assistance.

Since feathering is no longer a problem, I started using this to poach eggs for salads like macaroni, potato, and tuna. Instead of waiting on eggs to boil and then peeling them, I poach the eggs until the yolks are set, cool them and then dice. A real time saver, especially if you forget to start the eggs with the pasta or potatoes.

The Nordic Ware Egg Poacher is a simple and economical product that produces consistent results and eliminates the need to buy an egg poaching skillet. I recommend it and would buy it again.

Tip: The use and care directions are printed on the back of the cover.

4 out of 5 stars Egg Poacher Insert   April 1, 2008

We love our new egg poacher. So many poachers cook only three eggs; this one cooks four. It fits inside a skillet and, because the handle is short, the skillet's lid will cover it. Each section is a rounded triangle, which is cute, and wider than a standard "cup" shaped poacher section. This allows the white of the egg to spread out a bit more, and results in the white cooking more evenly. No more jiggly whites! I found the cooking time to be about five minutes for a partly-runny yolk.
