Amazon.com Review With its lively palette and durable construction, the Color line from Lodge is great for everything from main dishes to desserts. Handcast from molten iron in individual sand molds, the line features a sturdy construction that conducts evenly and retains heat well. A double layer of chip-resistant, non-reactive porcelain enamel coats both rims and interiors, while glossy, colorful enameling covers the exteriors. Handsome as well as functional, the enamel simplifies use by eliminating the need for seasoning the cast iron while creating an ideal browning surface. This attractive Lodge Color Dutch oven is suited to both stovetop and oven, simplifying the preparation of casseroles, roasts, stews, and baked goods. It is also designed for marinating or freezing and is safe on gas, electric, ceramic, and induction stoves. Other welcome features include side loop handles, a lid knob that is safe to 400 degrees F, and decorative concentric rings on the lid. Available in both 3-quart and 6-quart sizes, the oven comes in a variety of rich colors.[EB1] Washing by hand is recommended, and Lodge includes a limited lifetime warranty. --Emily Bedard

Waiting for the right price on green. July 25, 2008 0 out of 6 found this review helpful
Lodge Color Enamel 3-Quart Dutch Oven, Emerald I have only used this particular item a couple of times, but we have others in other colors that we have used frequently. I don't have any complaints, but waiting around for the "good price" gets a little boring in particularly if it comes and goes without getting a chance to purchase. Of course, I could pay the "usual price", but why would I especially in these tough economic times?

Perfect size for singles/couples or for side dishes for families.
The cast iron is great for heat retention and durability. The enamel coating allows for more versatility than regular cast. The green is a beautiful green that is close to what is shown on screen.
I love the fact that you can start a dish on stovetop and then transfer to oven, all in one pot. Food tastes delicious and cleanup is a breeze.
Some tips from the brochure:
The porcelain surface eliminates the need to season cast iron. The black rim on the pot and lid are matte porcelain, not exposed cast iron.
The knob is oven safe to 400 degrees.
Hygienic porcelain enamel is non-reactive with food.
Use for any cooking technique, as well as to marinate, refrigerate, and freeze.
Lodge Color Porcelain Enamel on Cast Iron cookware can be used on gas, electric, ceramic, and induction cooktops, as well as in the oven. It is not recommended for use on outdoor grills, or over open outdoor flames.
Do not use in the microwave.
Cleaning and Care Tips:
Hand wash with warm soapy water. Use plastic scouring pads to assist in cleaning.
For persistent stains on Lodge Color Porcelain Enamel on Cast Iron cookware, soak interior of the cookware for 2 to 3 hours with a solution of bleach, consisting of one teaspoon of bleach per pint of water.
If there is baked on food on the cookware, boil a mixture of 1 cup of water and 2 tablespoons of baking soda in the cookware.
Hope the information helps.
