Product Description Not all fondue pots are created equal. Some are simply not up to the challenge of cooking meat in oil or broth, but this one is. The stainless steel pot can go right on the stovetop to achieve the required temperature. Once the oil or broth is heated sufficiently the pot comes to the table and the cooking begins. Color-coded forks ensure guests won't confuse their utensils and small stoneware bowls allow you to serve dips, sauces, and other condiments to compolement the meal.
Amazon.com Review Trudeau's 15-piece meat fondue set features a stainless steel pot designed to go right on a stovetop burner, which makes it easy to heat the oil or bouillon; the steel is easy to wipe clean of oil when the party's over. This fondue set also comes with a quartet of 1-cup black stoneware dishes to hold the array of sauces or condiments which traditionally accompany the cooked meat and/or veggies. Stainless steel is a good choice for meat fondue, since it provides constant conduction and even circulation of heat for the cooking oil or broth. The pot has two carrying handles made of heavy, heat-insulated black plastic. The bottom of the pot is notched to provide stability when the pot is set into the stand. Each stainless steel fondue fork has a black plastic handle to shield hands from heat and a different colored finial, so fondue dippers can keep track of whose fork is whose. A fork guide fits over the lip of the pot and offers notches for each of the six forks. The sturdy black metal stand sits snugly on a matching tray, which has an indentation to hold the gel fuel burner. The burner itself has a swiveling adjuster for two heat settings and a cover for extinguishing the flame. Place fondue set in the center of a bare table or counter for best results; setting it on a tablecloth could be hazardously slippery. The steel pot, condiment cups, and fondue forks are dishwasher safe. Hand wash stand and tray with nonabrasive cleanser and scrubbers to avoid scratching paint. This 15-piece set from Trudeau comes with two basic meat fondue recipe variations. The 8-cup steel pot measures 8-1/2 by 7-1/2 by 4 inches; the metal stand is 8-3/4 inches across by 3-1/4 inches tall. Each fondue fork is 9-3/4 inches long. The gel fuel for the burner is not included; Trudeau carries it, as do many hardware and kitchen stores. The burner is not meant to be used with liquid fondue fuel. A gel-fuel instruction sheet is provided. Trudeau guarantees this product with a five-year warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. --Garland Withers What's in the Box 8-cup stainless-steel pot; black metal stand; black metal tray; fork guide; six stainless steel fondue forks; metal burner; four 1-cup black stoneware condiment cups

No forks included! September 29, 2008 I liked the set, but when it arrived it did not have any forks. From the picture and the way it was advertised, it seemed to have them. It has the four little bowls along side, but not the forks sticking out of the pot! This left me in a bad situation, having to pay more than double the value of the forks for their express shipping, that, had the advertising been more clear, I would have bought at the same time as the pot and saved money. Also, the pot is made of metal that is thinner than of what it appears to be from the picture. Other than this, however, it is a nice set and I recommend it. (Just order your forks separately!)

they quality of this product is so low.. i would be embarrased to serve people food from it. it would seem to be worth less than five bucks.
Make sure you have everything before making a fondue night January 20, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this thinking that everything came with it. Well, almost - didn't get the gel-pack thingie for the burner. Just make sure that you read the description CAREFULLY and get EXACTLY what it is that you will need for your fondue night.
Good Value for lower end pot December 26, 2007 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
We purchased two of these for hosting large fondue party and found them up to the task. They heated nicely, were easy to clean and those stoneware dishes came in handy. Unlike another reviewer, our items came with all the necessary parts (the fuel burner/container, the protective cover, and the fork guides). It looks like they made a mistake on his or her order.
On the downside, the sterno we purchased did not fit in the container and the construction overall was a tad "tinny."
Overall, these are fine items if you are going to use them, as we did, for a large party where you need several pots. However, if you are giving this as a gift or plan on having only one pot in your collection, I recommend purchasing something a little more solid and aesthetically pleasing. We are especially happy with our All-Clad Stainless Fondue Pot with forks
Unhappy buyer June 17, 2007 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
The fondue pot does look very nice! But it's missing some parts (the fuel burner/container, the protective cover, and the fork guides). The box doesn't have any assembly directions--just some recipes written in French. The only "document" written in English is a warning, in red letters, not to use liquid or fondue-pot fuel.
Overall, this fondu look like used, reconditioned, or refurbished.
