Amazon.com Review This 11-by-19-1/2-inch heavy cast-aluminum griddle fits over two gas or electric rangetop burners, including flat surface rangetops, making it easy to cook for a large group. Use it to grill sandwiches and meats, or to cook your world-famous, all-you-can-eat breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, veggies, French toast, and pancakes. The easy-to-clean nonstick surface is reinforced with stainless steel, which forms a permanent base for the nonstick coating. That means it will last up to 100 times longer than other nonsticks--thus its name, the "Ultimate Griddle." The recessed channel drains away excess fats from your bacon or sausage. The commercial-grade cast aluminum conducts heat more evenly than other surfaces, and at lower temperatures--in fact, you should use only low-to-medium heat with this griddle. As an added feature, the superconductive aluminum also works well to thaw frozen foods without the use of heat (steaks in 30-45 minutes, chicken in 20-30). Use only wooden, nylon, or nonmetallic utensils. Hand wash without abrasives. --Doree Armstrong

chef's design griddle November 14, 2008 this was a gift for our son in law, and he absolutely loves it. the griddle cooks evenly and is very easy to clean up afterwards.
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT! November 2, 2008 This is the best griddle, ever! Once seasoned, it cooks the best pancakes, toasted cheese sandwiches, tortillas...you get the picture. I is the largest griddle out there that I have seen, which is another plus when cooking for a crowd....
NOT too big for GE Profile Ceramic Cooktop! December 15, 2007 As the previous review notes, the directions for the GE Profile ceramic cooktop say not to use anything more than an inch beyond the burner, ***BUT*** the outside inch or so of this griddle is not cooking surface. The griddle surface is surrounded by a trench for greese run-off. You don't want that area to be as hot anyway, so as I've found, it's the perfect size for my wife's GE Profile ceramic cooktop.
Too big for GE Profile Ceramic Cooktop November 7, 2007 I returned this griddle after purchasing it because the directions for my GE Profile ceramic cooktop say not to use anything which is more than an inch beyond the burner. That means I cannot use any double griddle bigger than 10inch X 18inch. The risk is cracking the glass cooktop by having something hot on a cool surface. Had I seen the reviews from the GE profile users here, I might have given it a shot. (I bought it from Target). This griddle is very heavy and absolutely flat, which is necessary to work well on the ceramic cooktop.
Although I didn't cook with this griddle, I could tell that it is well made. I gave it 3 stars because I didn't like the raw aluminum (not anodized) on the bottom which rubs off as a black residue on anything it touches. I did like the look of the nonstick surface. It looked very durable. If you try to research comparison reviews, this is the one made by Wisconsin Foundry. I bought the 10X18 Kitchenaid double griddle instead which is also perfectly flat but has a porcelain coating (okay with care on my cooktop. I'm happy with the Kitchenaid, but it can only be used if your ceramic cooktop has a bridge burner.
A Useful Item October 11, 2007 We had a similar griddle for years, but the surface had become worn from usage. I had been unable to find a suitable replacement until stumbling upon this one. We use it primarily for pancakes and quesadillas, but I see no reason why it wouldn't do a fine job on anything one wants to cook on it. It works great on our gas range, by the way.
Another nice feature (that the instructions tout) is that it thaws frozen foods quickly and without the problems that microwave thawing can sometimes cause. Just put it on the counter and set the food on top. The superconductivity of the aluminum is amazingly effective.
