 Not quite what I had in mind!! July 20, 2008
Was looking to replace 15 yr old microwave bacon rack - the trough on this one is nowhere near deep enough to hold the grease from the bacon. Probably will use for steaming vegetables instead!!!

This bacon cooker is GREAT, no mess and clean up is a breeze. I suggest at least one and you may want to give it as a gift. I DID.
Good microwave cookware November 29, 2007
We use our microwave everyday and this piece is a must. The cover helps keep your microwave clean from grease splatters. The only concern I have is that, if dropped (tile floor) it breaks. This is our second set for that reason.

We have used one of these with a cover for many years - we have not found an easier way to cook bacon without the mess or grease splatter. I drilled holes in the cover to let the steam out, but without letting the splatter out. It would be helpful if they made a cover with steam holes. After many uses, the base becomes yellowed and takes the scratchy side of the sponge to clean between the splines, but it is still much easier than cooking bacon in a frying pan. We cook bacon every week and highly recommend it. We tried all the others - you need to be sure to have am 11 inch cover that fits inside the edges. We replace the base every four-five years after it gets too yellowed and brittle.
