Great out doors January 12, 2008 The tripod is just what I been looking for. Serves all my outdoor cooking. I don't have to worry about the dogs rolling of the grate when cooking.
Very solid camping item! November 5, 2007 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This is a very simple, yet "you've got to get it" kind of camping gadget. In a world that gets very hung up on tech -- including camping tech -- there are some easy to omit fundamentals that make camping what it should be, and Rome's Tripod Grill is one of those. Why so good you ask? Simple -- the tripod is well-made: No thin guage metal involved. It's very simple to use: just put the poles together, pop them into the top, put the chain-hung grill on and you're cookin'. It's well designed: there is a raised edge that keeps food (such as hot dogs) from rolling off the edges. It also breaks down small enough to fit into a patrol (a/k/a chuck) box. And for all of this, you get the taste of food cooked over an open campfire -- which is a real treat and part of why we get out there! Enjoy!
Workd fine, can be wobbly June 12, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
recieved item in timly fashion, however the box was only wrapped in plastic wrap, box was torn and punctured, contents were all over. All in all, every thing was there, but expected better shipping. Tri-pod can be wobbly at first, but nice heavy chain and grate is a plus. Having own many of Romes items, not really the quality I expected but ok for camping. Wouldn't want to ship it for a gift though, not sure how it would end up.
tripod camping grill January 9, 2007 0 out of 7 found this review helpful
Arrived on time. But, box was crushed and punctured. Contents in disarray, grill chain tangled. Gave this item to someone as a gift so, it didnt look very good. This may not be sellers fault but seller might want to go with different postal service.
Good Enough November 11, 2006 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
The tripod was easy to assemble, although I recommend you put it together BEFORE you light the fire. The chain works great for hanging a coffee pot. The grill spins on the chain so you'll want something to hold the grill with when you turn your food, but the spinning can be an advantage since you can move the food over a hotter or cooler part of the fire to control cooking.
