Are you covered? This simple replacement lid in highly polished metal fits any 9.4-inch (24-centimeter) saucepan, stockpot, or saute pan. It features a built-in steam hole and an integral metal arch handle. --Richard Farr

Too light and flimsy July 16, 2008
This lid is surprisingly light-weight compared to the Profiserie pans themselves, which are good solid pans designed for restaurant use. It has a thin sharp rim that has become dinged in normal use. If you want a Sitram lid, the lids from the Catering line are much better made. If you just need a lid for you pan check the yellow pages under Restaurant Supplies.
On the positive side, at least the handle does not heat up and doesn't require a side towel to remove the lid.
