Fits any pot, protects non-stick, goes in dishwasher September 19, 2008 This is a great product. It's flexible, so it can fit in any small to medium-sized pot. It cleans up beautifully in dishwasher. It is much easier to store than a metal steamer. In fact, my mother had the great idea of storing it as a spacer between my non-stick frying pans, so the top one doesn't scratch the one underneath. Have you ever had a kitchen gadget that multi-tasks as it's being STORED? My one complaint was well-articulated by another reviewer: it needs one more handle. It makes a great little gift too.
Handiest and Healthy July 15, 2008 This product is handy and healthy! The flexible, plastic steamer is designed to fit into most pots. The plastic is easy to use and clean. The product works well- vegetables steam up quickly. The handles make retrieving the steamer out of the pot very easy. I don't know how I have steamed vegetables without this product.I highly recommend this steamer. It would make a great addition to any kitchen and/or a great gift. It is very inexpensive and would pay for its use quickly.
terrific steamer June 24, 2008 What a great product! This is the best steamer I've ever owned. It's one of 2 or 3 best kitchen gadgets I've bought in the last year, super versatile, strong, light, flexible, easy on your good pots (I have no problem getting it out of pots), steams veggies perfectly, and best of all, it's really fun to use. Kids love it and want to help with supper just so they can get out the fun steamer and put it in the pot. Imagine you kids actually requesting vegetables for dinner - so they can use the steamer!
Buyer be aware........... June 18, 2008 this product is addictive. You may feel a strong urge to use often. I use daily. I gave one to my 75 year old aunt. She said it was stupid. Now she uses daily. Says it is the most useful thing she has ever had in her kitchen. When she started cooking she didn't have runing water. Figure that. It fits in my 5 1/2 qt Staub and my 1 1/2 qt AllClad. I like to put garlic & stuff in the water to infuse into the vegetables, shrimp, rolls, potatos. Fill a 2 cup plastic container half full of prepared cake mix. Put it in the steamer (no "garlic & stuff" in the water). Cover. Nuke 7 min on medium. Best, most moist cake ever. Little Jiffy Mix is right size.
Great! May 8, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This steamer is so easy to use - and cute! I can easily throw it in a small pot with some water and veggies and let it do the work. I also love the fact that it's microwave and dishwasher safe. I have never used a steamer before, so I had to figure out the correct amount of water to put in without the water boiling up and just boiling the veggies, but now I know.
