Amazon.com Review
No stovetop is complete without a charming teakettle, and this Farberware Classic Tiburon makes a handsome as well as useful fixture. Created from corrosion-resistant, high-quality stainless steel, the kettle features an attractive bell shape with a flared bottom for efficient burner coverage and faster heating. It whistles clearly when water boils, and the lever-controlled spout locks open with a simple flip for easy pouring and filling. The kettle also fills through the tidy top lid. Farberware uses a stay-cool synthetic to make the piece's handles, arcing the top one high for finger clearance. One design element to note here--lifting and spout-flipping are possible to perform with one hand (flip down the lever with your thumb and pick up the pot) though not as simple as the trigger-style spouts on some kettles. Polished to a mirror-finish, this kettle keeps its shine with a little bit of standard maintenance. Measuring 8-1/2 inches in diameter, it stands 9 inches high. --Emily Bedard

2 out of 5 stars Doesn't Last - Self-Destructing   August 2, 2008
I've used this teakettle every day for a few months. First the inside was just corroding away, even with rinsing and emptying. Then, the whistle stopped working. Then the handle cracked. That was it. Threw it out. I guess I got my money's worth, but it's not one to last any length of time at all.

This kettle was the worst kettle we ever owned. The handle got super hot. The plastic broke. The biggest thing is this kettle took for ever to heat up. In the morning you want to get out the door. This kettle would start to boil by the time you got to work. One thing, get a kettle with a copper bottom I'm not going to name any products in this review but Paul Revere was a great hero of mine. I love tea. For those that don't really understand copper is a great conductor, thats why its in the wire in your home. Heat and electricity are both forms of energy what would you want boiling your tea stainless steel...HA! No Way!

1 out of 5 stars Avoid this kettle   June 21, 2008
I am on Amazon today shopping for a new kettle after owning this one only a few short months. The spout cover is already broken so I get no whistle. Plus, I have never liked the handle. You have to practically contort your whole body sideways to pour it. Going back to Revere!

5 out of 5 stars Glad I chose this one   April 15, 2008
I have been looking for a new teakettle for quite awhile since it seems like a more sophisticated way of making tea (rather than the microwave...which I have been using for awhile now).

I looked at a lot of teakettles in stores and found so many of them impractical or inappropriate. In the end, I ordered this one, and am pleased. It has been used daily for the past couple of weeks with no problems.

The handle seems sturdy, and is a full loop, which I prefer over the short handles on some other models. The whistle is perfect for me...I love to hear when the water is ready and have had teakettles before that never made a peep.

The base is nice, slightly larger than the teakettle itself and the teakettle has a nice look to it. Overall, very impressed with the product and the price.
