Product Description This heavy 14-gauge wok is an easy and fun to use. The natural, blond, wooden handle and side spool handle allows the cook full command of the wok. The flat bottom wok is designed to sit directly on an electric stove or ceramic stovetop to take advantage of all the heat. Wok cooking is done with high heat. The flat bottom wok also works very efficiently on a gas stove. If cooking with gas, the same wok is available in round bottom. Wok measures 4" in depth. Cooking recommendations: 12" for up to 5 people, 14" for 6 to 12 people, and 16" for over 12 people. Must be seasoned.

So far so good September 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Seasoning the wok was a bit of a pain...especially doing it four times. And I was never once able to "scour" it back to original condition before seasoning it each successive time, as the directions said to do. But, afterward, it seemed to work as advertised. I've only used it a couple of times and it certainly seems like a quality piece of cookware. I look forward to many future uses.
Love this wok... October 10, 2007 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
My wok arrived on time as expected. I got an email from the Wok Shop with instructions on how to season the wok. I have used the wok many times now and I am more impressed with it each time I use it. I was concerned about my ceramic flat top range, but no problem. It gets very hot and is a pleasure to use. I would recommend to anyone. Sometimes cheaper is better.

Although I haven't gotten past the seasoning stage and I'm no expert, this wok seems like it's good quality (especially for the price). If it melts or falls apart, which I doubt, I'll post a follow-up.
Cheap but GOOD January 22, 2007 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
This wok works really nicely even on my wimpy electric stove. It's shipped with the longer handle unscrewed, but it goes in easily and feels sturdy once attached.
What surprised me was how well the seasoning instructions work. I've resolved not to buy Teflon pans any more, because I have a tendency to burn food, which spoils the coating (mmmm perfluorooctanoic acid) The coating works as well as a Teflon pan - with a cheap plastic wok chuan (spatula with a large semicircular blade), fried rice and eggs came off the surface easily. The coating endured cleaning with regular dish detergent and plastic scouring pad. It was surprising because I grew up in a Malaysian Chinese family and we've never done this "seasoning" thing with our woks. I emailed my mum to tell her about it.
The seller included 2 accessories, a large bamboo spoon and a thing that I think is meant for a cleaning instrument (but since it looks like a backscratcher I'm using it as one =D ), and a cookbook.
EDIT: by the way, using the oven seasoning method (explained in the seller's flier) is a lot better than the stovetop seasoning method - more durable, you can get a thicker coating on, and you're less likely to burn yourself in the process. Either way be ready to have a houseful of smoke for a couple of hours.
Wok and Roll! January 23, 2006 16 out of 20 found this review helpful
When my wok arrived (on time I might add!), I was and am very satisfied, well pleased with the quality, the weight, and quite surprised with the enclosed accessories! I was not expecting that! I am one satisfied customer. And, yes, I would order again from this seller. Thank you for your promptness in delivery. I am enjoying my wok stir-fry meals very much. Couldn't wait to get it to start healthy cooking!! Thank you once again!
