An ideal size for one or two people, this gift-boxed 10-1/2-inch wok makes a great gift for a college student or couple who enjoy stir-frying. The wok is made of heavy-gauge carbon steel that measures 1.5 millimeter thick, with Typhoon's Probon nonstick finish inside and out. The flat bottom sits securely on any type of stovetop, whether gas, electric, ceramic, or induction. Included with the set are a domed steel lid with a wooden knob handle; a pair of 13-inch-long bamboo cooking chopsticks; a 12-inch bamboo spoon/spatula; and a 12-inch bamboo fork. All the bamboo utensils come with nylon cords on the ends; the chopsticks are tied together. Serious chefs will appreciate the fact that the wooden handle, triangular in shape for a good grip, screws into a welded rivet on the outside of the wok, which means the interior surface of the 3-1/2-inch-deep wok remains completely smooth. The handle measures seven inches in length and features a stainless-steel connection to the wok and a sturdy stainless-steel ring for hanging. To maintain the Probon finish, the wok should be washed and dried by hand, not in a dishwasher. This is my first wok and its great. The wooden utensils it comes with are great since they wont scratch the nonstick layer. I haven't used the chopsticks but I like how they are physically attached by a nice little string so they always stay together. The size is fine for me since I usually just cook for myself but it may be small for those cooking for more than two people.
