Amazon.com Review This cooker boils up to seven eggs at one time or poaches one or two eggs in trays. You can use the calibrated water-level indicator to pour the precise amount of water needed to soft-, medium-, or hard-boil one to seven eggs. The indicator (a tube) has a steel pin in the bottom for piercing eggshells; this will leech out the sulfur so yolks remain yellow during cooking rather than turning green. Assuming the proper amount of water is in the egg holder, the timer will ensure the eggs are cooked to the desired level, and then indicates with a light and bell when the hard-boiling is completed. You can then set the timer switch to keep the eggs warm. The plastic egg holder is removable, letting you cool the eggs under running water. Everything cleans easily, including the nonstick coating on top of the boiling plate. The cooker measures 9-1/8 inches wide and 5-1/4 inches high. --Fred Brack

I wanted to love it, however... December 2, 2008 What can I say about an appliance that broke after ONE use? I just purchased this a few months ago here on Amazon and it has been sitting, perfectly fine, since then. A few days ago I finally used it to make hard boiled eggs. It was easy, quick and the eggs turned out perfectly. I couldn't wait to use it again. The second time I tried to use it, the timer bell kept ringing constantly, and there is no heat on either setting. I now have the privilege of paying to send it in to an out-of-state Krups service center, am out the machine, and now have 7 (uncooked) eggs with holes in them sitting back in my fridge. So, I guess I do know what to say. Bummer.
A nifty 3-task device November 29, 2008 This gadget really is a bargain at $20. FYI from previous review(s), the manual is INCORRECT showing the (POINTED) end of the egg being punctured (illustration #2) DO PUNCTURE THE ROUND END and you could prevent a mess. Every function worked as described. Owners should probably convert the measuring beaker capacities into fluid ounces or mL using a measuring cup should it become lost or broken. If it had an automatic shut-off feature I would have rated it 5 stars. Remember to allow yourself adequate time for cooking, this is a product that should NOT be left unattended while using. Enjoy "egg-heads" !

Love it November 17, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Growing up with egg cookers in Germany it was hard to find a good one here. This one is small , holds 7 eggs and with the cup it is foolproof to make perfect soft boiled eggs. The poached eggs came out good also. The trays are big enough for large eggs and are easy to pick up. The alarm makes i perfect : i do not have to keep checking if he light went off. we love this little kitchen helper.
Krups 230-70 Egg Express Egg Cooker October 28, 2008 I am enjoying my egg cooker! My sister is an avid egg eater, so it's fun when she's at the house and we have breakfast together. Or, if I want my eggs cooked just right, this little machine does the trick for me. I recommend it for anyone who wants their eggs done right.
