This makes delicious coffee. I was skeptical that I would have plasticy or metallic tasting coffee with a metal basket, but my coffee has never had such a warm woody taste since I started using the basket. cleaning is a little hard since I have to spray all the coffee out of it with the faucet hose, but it is worth the landfull space for me to spray a little bit. also keeps from filling my valuable cabinet space with a huge box of filters, and not to mention the hassle of separating them every time I want a fresh pot!
this filter is magnificent, and much better than the cheaper ones which my friends have gotten and had metallic tasting coffee.

It works as advertised! Although to be honest, other than the fact that the mesh is metallic and stiffer, I can't really tell any difference in performance between this and the white one that is included in the FTX41 and FTX49.
Definitely better than a paper filter though.

At the regular price of about $15 I let this sit in my cart until it dropped to about $11 and change and I thought that was a god deal. A few days later I saw an almost identical item in Target for the regular price of $4.99 and it's probably the same manufacturer with different packaging. It fit perfectly in the 12 cup Mr. Coffee machine that I have since the Target had the same model on display to test the fit. Go to Target and get 2 or less than 1 on Amazon... actually 3 if Amazon still shows it at full price.

I bought this filter a couple months back and love it. I wanted to test it out before leaving an honest review. I really wish I had invested in one of these permanent filters years ago. The coffee always tastes great, and clean up afterwards is quick and easy. I recommend this filter to anyone who has a coffeemaker in size that will accept it.

Great for the environment.
If it had screaning on the bottom, as well as the sides, like my old one,
it would be much easier to rinse clean.
