boils water - but not reliable November 9, 2008 nice kettle. looks cool. build quality is questionable - the on-off switch stopped working within a few weeks...
Great product, buy this item! October 12, 2008 Great Product! I drink lots of Chinese green tea, make my coffee in a French press, and cook items daily (like old fashioned oatmeal) that need boiling water. This kettle will heat water fast than my microwave oven or my electric stove top. When I'm frantically getting ready for work at 5:30 am every minute is critical. This unit will heat 1 1/2 quarts of cold tap water to boiling in 5 minutes or less. Faster of course if I'm heating just 2 cups of cold water to boiling for my French press. With the auto shut-off I can add water, turn it on, return after my morning toiletries and have the boiling water to make the coffee, oatmeal, or whatever so much faster. Most convenient that the cord stays with the base too. Buy it!
Works well, plastic appearance September 26, 2008 Don't be fooled by the excellent pictures. This kettle works great, but on your counter it looks like what it is - plastic. It's great to have the detachable base. Great design.
Can't get rid of bad taste. September 19, 2008 I bought this kettle to replace one I had worn out and I was so excited, I thought I had found a great kettle. But There is some flaky bitter stuff I can't clean out of the bottom of the kettle. Nothing will remove it. I regret buying this. Also the bottom gives you a selection as to which side the cord comes out. I only got one choice, since one side was broken.
Good Investment August 29, 2008 The kettle is not a bad deal. After living in England for four years, I grew used to drinking tea. The kettle is a bit slower than those in the UK, however, this is most likely due to different voltages. Great if you need to save on time and a must for the tea or coffee drinker. The one thing I did not care for is the flimsy filter and the smell of plastic. It takes a while for the smell to go away, just boil it a few times.
