Two for Two with Defective Machines November 22, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Last December I bought the BCO-130T machine. I thoroughly enjoyed it - the coffee it made and the very good espresso and cappuccino. It worked fine for awhile. About June/July it started leaking water from the bottom of the machine. I called the suggested repair facility in Virginia. As soon as I started to explain the problem to the owner, he told me the problem and that it was common and the machine would be replaced. I sent it in for repairs. Well that process took about 8 weeks, an absolutely ridiculous amount of time.
I finally get a replacement and now a couple/few months later this new machine is also leaking. So now I am two for two of machines that are defective and do not work. Although I have "had" the machine for about 11 months I have not been able to use it but about 8+months.
I have no confidence whatsoever in going through the process again not to mention that I will again have to pay shipping and be without a coffee maker for weeks. To spend ANY more money on this inferior product would be throwing good money after bad.
Dissatisfied with inferior product October 5, 2008 We have had several DeLonghi products including earlier generation combination coffee/espresso machines. When our old machine wore out, we tried this new version. We tried the espresso maker and it didn't work right and then the coffee maker and it didn't inject water completely into the coffee grounds. We contacted DeLonghi and they said it was defective and needed to be returned, which we did. Overall it was dissappointing to see a company's product quality degrade so significantly.
Hot Chocolate? September 23, 2008 The owner's manual did not have recipes for either hot chocolate or lattes. We called their customer service and they were zero help. They even insisted that the recipes were in the manual while they are not. Can anyone help? If you are looking to Delonghi for help, forget it.
Great Disappointment September 9, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This machine does make good coffee as long as it is working. Unfortunately, working is the operative word. We had our machine for 8 months when the pump in the coffee maker failed. DeLonghi replaced the machine since it was still within the warranty period (Save your receipt!). The replacement machine began leaking water all over the counter after about 10 months and soon the pump failed again. Since the ORIGINAL purchase has been more than a year ago there is no warranty on this machine. DO NOT BUY THIS MACHINE. Our basic plain Jane inexpensive coffee makers have been far more dependable than this rather expensive device.
Don't buy the machine July 16, 2008 I purchased this upgrading my previous version which died. It makes good coffee and good espresso but it cannot froth milk. The milk leaks between the o-ring seals of the red regulator where the milk and steam are mixed. I have replaced every single part of the milk container, regulator, o-rings, tube and nothing worked. I was told to take it to their service center. I took it there and after over a month he requested a new machine. The new machine arrived today and as I tried the frothing, it leaks milk from the top of the red regulator which prevents it from making frothed milk. It seems like the regulator and the seals are not made for this machine. I see an uneven gap when I look at it carefully. I didn't intend to pay $145 for just a coffee machine. I have been using DeLonghi for the past 10 years and I bought this model for the automatic frothing system which doesn't work.
DO NOT buy this model.
