stainless steel microwave November 24, 2008 This is a great little microwave, and very stunning in the kitchen! It works pefectly - I had a Sharp that was very old, but still in working condition after 15 years...wanted to upgrade to stainless to match my other appliances. Can't go wrong with this brand.
Buzzing Sound, Loose Door & Slow Cooker October 15, 2008 I do not recommend this microwave. I have to say that this slightly pricey microwave, compared to other brands and models, look really classy with its shiny touches. It's a nice looking microwave, but that's about it. This microwave gives off a loud buzzing sound during cooking and the door is a bit loose around the hinges. The door can literally be shaken while the door is closed. Another issue I have with it is that it cooks much slower than the microwave I have at work. When I cook a TV dinner platter, the food is never heated in accordance to the time the box says it should cook (even when I use the maximum recommended time). When I microwaved the same type of TV dinner at work (a smaller microwave model), it cooked at the minimum recommended cooking time. With this Sharp R-216LS, I always have to add an extra minute to the recommended cooking time--a waste of energy. Luckily I don't use the microwave for much except once in a blue moon TV dinner.
nice microwave October 3, 2008 This microwave arrived very quickly and my Mother is very pleased with the appearance and size. The only draw back is the 800Watts. We thought it would be enough to heat water in 1 minute but it takes almost 2 minutes.
poor quality September 14, 2008 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
This microwave is very poorly designed with very poor low end quality materials. No bargain considering the same microwave can be purchased at most local appliance stores for the same pricing. The time digital readout is very poorly illuminated. Very light in weight. No padding or footing for counter top placement with scratching of counter top quite possible. Not user friendly in changing power settings. May be good for heating water but thats about it...... I would highly suggest saving the time and subsequent frustrations by avoiding this model unless you actually see one at a store. Buyer beware is the word for this one.
Beware the sticker that wont come off!!!! September 11, 2008 The mic is quite ok. The problem was that the unit had a product sticker o nthe plastic door that when removed left the adheisive on the plastic. it would not come off with soap and water, cleaner, anything. Ultimately it had to be scrubbed so damned hard that there are now scratches on the door of my nice new microwave.
