Lasted long, cooks rice well November 17, 2007 My wife has had this rice cooker for more than 2 years. We use it on roughly a weekly basis and before we were married she would let her roommates use it. It has only given us undercooked rice once and occasionally a dry bottom, luckily never burned. We usually cook 3 rice cooker cups of rice but she has on occasion only cooked 1 rice cooker cup of rice. We really like it and it was really cheap. It's not high tech or fancy but it makes our life a whole lot simpler.
Guaranteed to burn your rice! September 9, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this rice cooker, and soon found that my girlfriend has an identical one. Both rice cookers have the same problem - they burn the rice no matter how closely you follow the instructions! The instructions say that you should stir the rice if you want to let it sit more than 30 minutes, so that it will not get burned. However, by the time the "cook" light switches off, the rice is already burnt black on the bottom! This isn't a rice cooker, it's a rice burner. There's no way to adjust it, because there's only one button. Buy some other rice cooker; this one is a major rip off and greatly lowers the opinion I have of Black and Decker. This should never have passed quality control.
Didn't last long August 11, 2006 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
We've used this rice cooker not more than 3 times. It was put away and we forgot about it for a few months and then realized that we were eating lots of rice, why not cook in the rice cooker. When we took it out to use it, it was dead. Does not work at all. I've had good experiences with Black & Decker before, but this one sure wasn't. Would not buy this or any other B&D rice cooker again.
very functional even for the rice-challenged July 28, 2006 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought a rice cooker because I have never been able to make decent rice in a pot (yes, I know it's been done for centuries and is supposed to be so easy). This rice cooker is exactly what I expected (perfection) in all but two ways: 1)you can make up to 10 cups of rice, but not less than 3. I didn't realize that when I bought it. I have occasionally made a lot more rice than I needed. 2) depending on the rice, sometimes the bottom layer of rice gets a little too much heat (i.e. crispy). This doesn't happen with Japanese rice, which is my favorite. It does happen with cheap rice. It hasn't been that big of a deal -- compared to undercooked or overcooked rice, these are minor things.

This is a wonderful product. It is simple to use, economical and cooks rice perfectly, just add rice and water, push the button down and walk away. I use mine atleast 5 times a week.
