Whether you're making a simple after-work martini or shaking up elaborate rum drinks for dinner-party guests, this classic, 16-ounce, stainless-steel shaker from Pedrini helps to whip up cocktails in style. The sleek, curvy, almost anthropomorphic shape of the shaker (narrow at the foot, widening gracefully in the midsection, then tapering at the top), its brushed matte finish, plus its streamlined design add panache and glamour to the cocktail hour.The three-piece shaker includes a tumbler, snug fitting lid, and small cap that fits over the lid to cover the built-in strainer. To use, add ice, booze, and other ingredients to the tumbler, twist on the lid, position the cap, and shake vigorously. Then remove the cap and strain the liquid into a chilled glass, making sure to keep the lid held tightly in place. The lid on this shaker stays in place better than most; many require extra attention to avoid spilling accidents. Because the seal works so well, in fact, it may occasionally get stuck since a partial vacuum is formed during the chilling of the cocktail. If this occurs, a swift downward shake or snap of the wrist should loosen the parts. --Emily Wolf

has never leaked a drop October 22, 2003
This has been the ideal shaker. It puts together easily and I have never had it leak once - perfect seal every time. It's weight and thickness are perfect for shaking, and you know when you're done by when it gets too cold to hold - the way it's supposed to. I can't imagine a better shaker out there unless there's a cheaper one that works as well. You'll never need another one if you buy this.

This, my friends, is simply the perfect cocktail shaker. Works great -- and at a great price. Performs as well as shakers at double the cost. Durable, too. (Dropped a few times on a hard tile floor -- no dings!) Tiki drinks, martinis, swanky cocktails, you name it. Easy to buy, easy to use, easy to clean, easy to love. Simplicity meets function. G'head ... you know you want it.

I like the size of this tool, and I've only had two problems with it. Once it popped open, once it became stuck shut. A quick douse of hot water on the lid fixed that. Otherwise, it works well (we use it to make salad dressing), and we are quite pleased.

I had browsed the 'net looking for shakers that weren't too expensive, but looked like good quality. I happened upon this one, and I am very happy that I did. I work 5 days a week (so I definitely enjoy a drink), but also tend bar part time. I like the capacity of this, and the built in strainer. The parts seperate easy enough after shaking. Easy clean up, too. I bought 3 of them, so I could use them at home, and @ the bartending gig.
SenatorLou also loves his. I gave one as a gift, and he cant get enough.
