Product Description Now this is one BIG bowl. Big enough for mixing turkey stuffing, prodigious quantities of potato salad, or for giving a head of spinach a rinsing bath. This serviceable bowl is just what you might expect to see in a busy restaurant kitchen. Its brushed surfaces resist wear and tear. Lightweight and with a rolled rim to take an occasional knock, it can go right in the dishwasher for clean up.
Amazon.com Review The first bowl you'll reach for when stirring up party mix for a crowd or preparing the holiday stuffing, this giant-size stainless-steel bowl is especially useful when working with ingredients that should stay chilled. Simply pop the bowl in the freezer for a few minutes before using, and your custard for homemade ice cream will set up in a snap. The sturdy lip of the bowl makes a firm grip easy to maintain. This bowl is really designed to be a true kitchen workhorse. It holds up well to a variety of temperatures, and you can pop it in the dishwasher as necessary. --Jill Lightner

PERFECT MONSTER BOWL! October 5, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a monster of a bowl! Although I have limited storage space in my kitchen, I wouldn't trade this for any other. It's not heavy, but quite sturdy. Mixing by hand is a pleasure now, nothing splashing up and out of the bowl anymore! :) The fact that it's not heavy makes it a pleasure to hand wash and dry quickly when it's needed again for another batch of whatever. This bowl is definitely being added to my "Favorite Kitchen Things" list!
Huge, solid and durable July 12, 2008 Can't say that I've actually checked to see if this truly holds 12 quarts, but it's pretty darn big and very solid - great for big mixing jobs. Well worth the price and has a permanent spot in our kitchen.

This "12"-quart bowl only holds 8 Quarts of Water. It is made in India where perhaps it is legal to stamp a product with false measurements.Be advised that if you are trying to buy a bowl that will hold 12 Quarts; this bowl holds 8 Quarts.
Just what I've been looking for April 29, 2006 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I've wanted a large stainless steel bowl like I see on cooking shows that is somewhat deep but also wide enough to use as a serving bowl for salads or snacks like popcorn. This one is perfect! It's sturdy enough that it doesn't dent easily but it's not too heavy either. It's great for bread dough rising also. I also have the 4 qt and plan to get the 8qt.
