Product Description These tongs can be used to flip a chicken breast in the saute pan, to rotate a red pepper under the broiler, or to retrieve a lobster from the pot. Safe for non-stick cookware, the silicone tips take really high temperatures in stride.

Silicone Tongs , Red April 10, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
High quality silicone coated tongs. Springs open, locks closed. Does NOT scratch my non-stick skillets.
OK but not what I wanted January 16, 2008 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
These would be ok but I didn't realize just how big they are. I wanted something I could actually cook with. They are a full 12" long. The handles didn't fit comfortably in my hand and the silicon tips are hard, not rubbery texture like I'd imagined. The tips open to about 6" between them. Hope this helps someone else know better if it's what they want.
Silicone Makes The Difference December 27, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I needed a good set of tongs to use in non-stick pans. Not having to worry about melting the tips is what really makes these great. I'll confess that it did take me a minute to figure out how to lock them. Locking is simply push/pull the spring with the hanging ring. I think you'll like these.
Fantastic tongs. December 4, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I use my other Amco set (metal tips) all the time. These don't get as much use but working with non-stick surfaces will get these out of the cabinet every time.
Great tongs for nonstick January 28, 2006 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
If you're like me, you find it really hard to find GOOD utensils that you can use with your nonstick cookware. Spoons are the only thing that are good in wood, and the plastic stuff seems to crap out on me, eventually.
Tongs are worth their weight in gold; a spatula or spoon have their uses, but they're not cut out for universal cooking service. Tongs are good for just about anything that's not sloppy or squishy. It's like having a heatproof extension of your hand available.
All you ever see is the standard metals tongs, though, and those won't do unless you're BBQing or if you cook on stainless or anodized (and you can't poke a lot in either). I didn't want plastic-tipped tongs, so these fit the bill perfectly.
They are a good length. They don't open too wide to be a nuisance when placed on a counter- or stove-top. They're sturdy. They're great!
