just ok October 7, 2008 these type of cheese slicers are my favorite, but on a block of medium cheddar, it skips, rather than making a clean smooth cut. i probably wouldn't mind, but i have another slicer of the same type and it cuts smooth and steady. still a decent price for a decent product.
not for standard blocks of cheese August 22, 2008 I bought this based on previous reviews thinking that I could slice through a standard "baby loaf" block of cheese. No such luck. This is designed for those little premium cheeses that you put out at parties. I attempted to use this to slice pepper jack cheese. Not happening. Tore through the cheese instead of slicing. Took off huge chunks at the corners of the block. I figured it was the tiny bits of pepper it was getting hung up on so I tried regular old cheddar. Still took off corners in chunks. Not a good item for everyday cheese slicing for sandwiches. Does a great job on small cheeses that are only a total of about 3 inches wide.
Perfect for the job May 27, 2008 My first cheese slicer fell into my hands while living in Moscow, Russia. The plastic handled tool almost immediately started to fall apart, but I loved what it did so much that I hated to get rid of it. I used it to slice cheese to the perfect garnish thickness, slice and shape brownies and other soft pan goods, and serve as a spatula. Unfortunately, as the years went on, I knew I needed a replacement, but they were either too flimsy, too stiff, not sharp enough, serated, etc. It was a scary thing to order one sight-unseen, but I trusted the other reviews. I also bought this tool for two friends getting married this summer. I have been very happy with it and think that my old one which has been held together with packing tape, can now finally retire in peace.

It's a good product that matches the clad pot set I have. Awesome pot also, I think they may be discontinued and I don't know why! Great handles.
Smile and say cheese March 10, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Not being able to find a decent sturdy cheese slicer at the supermarket I thought I'd try on-line. The Anolon Cheese Slicer looked like a solid product so I ordered one. I was not disappointed. It looks good, has a comfortable rubberized grip, and the stainless steel slicer is sturdy, not bending when being dragged over a block of hard cheese. I use it primarily for slicing Tillamook cheddar and jack cheeses and it works great.
