You don't want to know me before my first coffee, but this pot does the trick! November 26, 2008 For several years I have been using stove top expresso makers to make my morning coffee. I have always used to cheap variety, and as a result have gone though quite a number of them. After the last one almost exploded on the stovetop, I decided to bite the bullet and pay for a more expensive one. I am so glad I did. Not only does this coffee maker make really good tasting coffee, it is also a very attractive piece of kitchenware in its own right. I am also glad that I went for the 6 cup over the smaller version. Now I know that if you make expresso properly then a six cup pot should make enough coffee for 6, but I find that with a tablespoon of non expresso beans per person, this little pot makes enough coffee of an adequate level of potency for two cups of coffee, enough for my partner and I to both have a good start to our day. There is something satisfying (and comfortingly ritualistic) about making coffee each morning using a stovetop coffee maker and this one has taken care of all my coffee making needs.
great coffee maker November 25, 2008 Great coffee maker. I also have an Espresso machine, but I changed it because there are too many plastic parts in the machine (plastic and hot water - I don't want the chemicals leaching into my coffee) I like to use the Bialetti everyday. It gives you great coffee. I use strong espresso coffee beans for a great flavor. And it made from stainless steel much better than the aluminum once.
Saving $5 a day now... November 23, 2008 This little pot along with the Aerolatte Milk Frother makes great lattes and has been saving me $5 a day for the past couple weeks. I still plan to stop at my favorite coffee shop once a week or so to pick up some freshly roasted beans.
In all honesty, the coffee shop espresso is a bit richer than I have made in this so far. However, it is very good and I plan to continue saving myself $5 a day ($1,825 a year!)
Oh, if you don't like it, chances are good you may not be following the directions...Bialetti Class 4-Cup Stovetop Percolator
Great Pot November 22, 2008 Makes a great cup of coffee, easy to clean. The handle broke on mine after nine months of use.
Yummy! September 20, 2008 I love it. It reminds me of sitting in Spain. I have had several high priced espresso machines-two I gave away, one I threw away (coffee/espresso machine-it sounded too good to be true. . .and it was) and one I save for company. This gives you that strong, strong espresso that is between liquid and solid-heaven! A little frothed milk and it is a dream.
I don't think you can get a better cup. In the first week, it paid for itself in the money I was spending in buying mochas out. Love having a cup in the morning and one at night. . .decadent? yep.
Soo easy to use. I love frothing the milk while the espresso brews and mixing. Some have said nuke it; but, as I grow older, I neither like anything too hot or too cold. I think the temperature is perfect with frothed milk right from the fridge, a pinch of chocolate and a little nutmeg. Add the espresso and makes two very large mochas.
I can't wait for morning to have another.
