5 out of 5 stars Works Well With Tea   June 15, 2008
We use this with Barry's Tea Gold Blend loose leaf tea and it works great. We use about a 1/2 tablespoon of tea and brew for five minutes. A word of warning though, the other reviewers are correct, it is smaller than you think. It holds 32 oz and that's only about 2.5 cups for me!

5 out of 5 stars Large enough for three of us.   January 5, 2008

I think that in the "french press" business a cup is defined as 4 oz. Thus an eight-cup pot is just about right for 3 or 4 regular USA cups-a-joe. We used to have a four-cup press and it was just two small for my wife and I to get a nice cup in the morning. With this pot we even have a bit left over with which to make some iced coffee at lunch.

I like the fact that the base presses on to the glass pot so it stays put unless I want to take it off for washing.

The handle and band that surround the glass are made of plastic and when hot the band feels a tiny bit loose, but it has never slipped, so I guess the engineers knew what they were doing.

We've been perfectly satisfied with the press which performs as well as our old Bodum used to.

5 out of 5 stars very pleased   November 29, 2007

I shopped for this coffee maker after a trip to Italy and a vow to only drink good coffee for evermore. I am really happy with this product. I get to drink good coffee, don't need paper filters, and don't need to clean it once a month with vinegar.

5 out of 5 stars Best coffee ever   October 28, 2007

First off, this thing only make about 2-3 of you average sized cups. On the plus side, the coffee is sooo delicious and strong (yet somehow not bitter) that one or two cups will fix you right up. Making the coffee takes only about 6 minutes, 2 to boil water, and 4 to brew. After that, just slowly push down the plunger and enjoy the freshest, most flavorful coffee you've ever had from any old drip-pot. As I stated before, the coffee isn't bitter even when you make it really strong. After making coffee in this fast, effective, space saving little contraption, I don't even care about my fancy Gevalia coffee maker. This is how coffee should be, and I feel I should make note that you can make the coffee as weak or as strong as you want, but since it doesn't come out bitter, I go all out. The coffee comes out tasty enough, I don't even bother with sugar etc. very recommended product, it's all durable plastics, rubber, and real glass, seems like a very quality little coffee maker.

All coffee drinkers owe themselves the luxury of a french press. The taste of the coffee, and nothing more!
