Amazon.com Review Versatile and easy to operate, this breadmaker creates nearly any imaginable type of bread and mixes and kneads pizza and other doughs for baking goodies in the oven. Buttons and an LED display make 22 combinations available: choices include a 1-, 1-1/2-, or 2-pound loaf; regular or rapid-rise (white bread only, in 59 minutes) settings; light, medium, or dark crust; and thin, crisp French-style or regular crust. Making bread in the Breadman is no more complicated than placing basic ingredients (or bread mixes) into the bread pan and letting the machine mix, knead, rise, punch down, rise again, and bake horizontal ("squared vertical") loaves. Furthermore, ingredients can be placed in the machine up to 13 hours from the time a fresh, warm loaf is wanted; simply program the machine to begin work so the loaf emerges at the desired time. Bread for supper can be started in the morning or breakfast cinnamon rolls the day before. An instruction booklet accompanies the machine, along with recipes. The bread pan and kneading paddle are nonstick and can be cleaned in warm, soapy water. The machine carries a one-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

A waste of time and money September 11, 2007 I made about a half dozen loaves of bread with this machine with OK results in terms of taste. However, removing the paddle pretty much destroyed the integrity of the loaf every time. After that, the loaf pan lost it's nonstick coating completely and the bread came out in chunks. I have just wasted an hour looking for a site where I could purchase a replacement and have hit a brick wall. I agree that their support is terrible. I have been using my Cuisinart table top mixer to mix and knead bread with better results, although I loved the idea of set it and forget it with a bread machine. I would recommend staying clear of Breadman machines for sure.
Solid, used for 3 years August 15, 2006 Used a couple of times a month for the last 3 years with no problems. I would buy another if I needed it!
I need an instruction manual July 17, 2005 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I am using this review to try to get an instructional manual for this BreadMan TR444. I have lost mine and have not used it in ages, but now I would like to use it again.
Thank you, Susie
Pan coating failed and it overcooks. December 24, 2004 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
After only 2 uses, the nonstick coating failed. I can't use the machine anymore because I can't get the bread out of the pan without destroying it. Additionally, the bread (at any setting) comes out overcooked. A replacement pan is expensive, so I will bake traditional loaves from now on. Check into the Zojirushi Home Bakery X20, stay away from this one.
Need a replacement pan November 19, 2004 After about a year of use (about 20 loaves), the non-stick surface of my breadpan has worn off and the loaves will not come out of the pan. I found a replacement pan at www.culinaryparts.com for $41.00, but after reading all of the reviews about the unreliability of this machine, I am reluctant to make the investment.
