Product Description Every kitchen should have a pan like this for lasagna, sheet cakes, big batches of mac & cheese, and so on. The two winning features of this particular pan are its non-stick interior which will save time and aggravation during serving and clean up, and the handy lid. Not only will the plastic cover make life easier if you are transporting your dish to a party, it also keeps food fresh for storage in the fridge.
Amazon.com Review Ideal for travel, this ingenious standard-size pan from Chicago Metallic makes messy food transport a thing of the past: its handy plastic lid keeps liquids from splashing on clothes or car seats and protects cake frosting far better than clingy plastic wrap. Combining the needs of a modern lifestyle with time-honored quality, this versatile pan also offers the strength, durability, and reliability professional bakers have come to expect from Chicago Metallic for more than 100 years.Once available only to commercial kitchens, the pan is made of professional-weight aluminized steel, so it won't buckle or bend under intense heat and consistently provides fast and even heat distribution. Foods brown quickly and evenly--there's no need to turn the sheet midway through baking. Bakers new to aluminized steel should pay extra attention at first, since this heavy-gauge sheet bakes quickly than lighter-gauge varieties. The nonstick SilverStone surface allows cooking without butter or oil, and ensures easy cleanup of even over-browned cheese or caramelized sugar. As with all nonstick surfaces, be sure to use nonabrasive sponges and cleansers only, and choose wood, nylon, plastic, or rubber utensils to prevent damage to the coated surface. --Emily Wolf

If you don't need the lid, this is a great pan November 29, 2008 The pan itself is great, but the lid is essentially useless. I would recommend purchasing a different pan/lid (which I did after returning this) if you are planning on taking your pan anywhere. If you're planning on just using the lid as a cover in lieu of saran wrap, this will be great for you!
Good heavy pan October 7, 2008 Awesome pan, very heavy duty, lid is also great. Makes a great gift or addition to any kitchen.
Great pan, cleans easy,,lid sucks! January 19, 2008 This is a sturdy pan that will not worp or bend. It's made very well, and such a good price, Amazing! I have made a cake in it, a Meat loaf, cassarole with cheese etc., and just running it under water, everything comes off easy. (of course I still wash it). I don't think anything can stick to this pan!
I didn't have this size pan, and it is good for about 4 people depending what your making, but I don't think its that big. I'm going to buy the next size up.
I would have given the pan a 5 star, but not with this lid I couldn't. The lid does not fit that good. It did keep popping off when new. I kept putting it back on, and it seems to stay on now when I use it. I keep the lid on it in my pantry, so it forms to the pan. It is not air tight, but is better then having to deal with plastic wrap or tin foil! The lid is raised up abit so it doesn't smash or stick on your cake , cassarole etc.
I think Amazon sells this pan without the lid, for less of a price, if you do not want the lid.
I would buy this again.
Another awesome pan March 2, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a handy duo! The pan as usual is sturdy and the lid well, don't know what it's made of but very flexible. The lid has a slight dome to it so it doesn't mash the contents when opening.
Again, follow instructions on cook time, oven temp. I cannot wait for a family or neighborhood gathering where I can show this off !! This was another great addition to my collection.
