Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com Review
A crusty loaf yields easily to this knife, whose serrations are big enough to rate--in knife-speak--as "scallops." Henckels' International Fine Edge is an inexpensive cutlery line made in countries other than the company's home of Germany. These knives don't have bolsters and their blades are thinner and less strong. Handles are narrower and shallower than those of the company's premier lines--a feature those with small hands might appreciate. --Fred Brack

5 out of 5 stars Works fine   July 27, 2008

Unbeatable for the price. I cut everything with it, bread, fruit, vegetables... At first there were small residues of metal between the different 'teeth' and I though that it did not come in proper working order. But once you manage to clean that out (which does require a bit of effort), it cuts as it should without leaving any metal residue.

5 out of 5 stars Good Quality Works for Variety of Breads   April 28, 2008

I really like this bread knife. It is a large size and feels good in my hands. It is good for slicing a variety of breads. I espeically like the way it doesn't tear loaf breads like banana and zucchini. It is good for delicate quick breads like scones and it works easily on hard rolls. I am pleased with this purchase and I do recommend Henckels products.

3 out of 5 stars Heavy bread knife   January 15, 2008
It looks like a lower quality product from J.A. Henckels. The knife is heavier and thicker than I expected. Not much to say about this product.

5 out of 5 stars Really nice bread knife   October 20, 2007

I purchased this bread knife along with the 3 piece gift set (twin Henckels). This slices through the bread with no effort. I would recommend it. I also love the 3 piece set. Better than any knives I've had. I've only had them for a week, so I don't know how often they'll need sharpening. I am being careful to use the recommended boards and hand washing them.

1 out of 5 stars Fake!   September 12, 2007

Please be aware this is not a J.A. Henckels knife. It is a very cheap imitation and not worth a cent!
