Unlike standard plastic spatulas, this sturdy black nylon spatula from Calphalon won't melt if you leave it leaning against a hot skillet (up to 400 degrees, that is). And so it doesn't slide into your stir-fried broccoli and tofu, there's a little notch on the back of the handle that will anchor the spatula to your pan. The rounded spatula head is the perfect size for flipping grilled ham and cheese sandwiches or for lifting spinach and tomato frittatas from a skillet. The straight edge is slightly angled so you can smoothly slide the spatula under your food. With a hole in the handle, the spatula comes ready to be hung from an overhead rack. When you're finished cooking, just toss it in the dishwasher to clean it. --Dana Van Nest

This is a must have to protect all of your Calphalon pans!!! I love this spatula. I don't have to worry about harming the nonstick coating on my pans and the size is perfect for me. I want all of the Calphalon brand nylon utensils! They are wonderful! Very sturdy and easy to work with no matter what's cooking!

This is a well-made spatula. It is stiff (but not brittle) and doesn't bend much when lifting heavy items. Our old plastic spatulas would burn easily - this one still looks new after 3 months. I also like the fact that it has a fairly sharp edge so I can cut food with it - grilled cheese, hamburgers, chicken, etc.I would definitely buy this one again.

These are the best quality utensils for preserving the non-stick surface. You can use them with full confidence that they won't cause scratches or marks. They hold up well to heat (mine has a bit of melted edge, but is still completely functional) and repeated use. Essential for cooking eggs/pancakes.

But it can take the heat of sauteing and other high temp cooking! Sure you can buy it locally, but with the free shipping with a ... purchase, WHY FIGHT THE CROWDS! Good price for a good product!
Attractive and functional..... December 29, 2002
This is the second calphalon spatula I have purchased and I am very pleased with them both. I bought this to use with their cookware and it performs as promised. I can rest it in or against a very hot sautese pan with no damage to the spatula and confine my clean-up to the pan. I have a non-stick pan for eggs and it easily lifts the omelettes without tearing them and lets me deftly flip them and slide them out of the pan.
The only improvement could be if the handle were a bit longer to use on the outside grill. A great implement for the price - get both sizes!
