Square Cupcakes August 12, 2008 I am using these pans to make square cupcakes for my wedding. The pans are the perfect size and very easy to use. The only problem that I had was finding square liners so that I could make individual cupcakes for 300 people for my wedding! They also shipped to me really fast-which was a plus, since I needed to see if they would work. I am sure that I will order from Chicago Metallic again!
Couldn't be happier. July 14, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was a little concerned about the corners being overbaked after reading reviews here and elsewhere. However, I baked crumbcakes in the pan using round cupcake liners and couldn't have been happier with the results. I definately would buy this pan again.
decent product May 29, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This pan is great for making non traditional shaped cakes. I purchased it to make "baby blocks" for a baby shower. It's difficult to grease all the sides because the corners are tight, but nothing you can do about that. Overall it's a great product.
A pain to clean... March 5, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This pan seemed very promising at first. But after use, 2 things are less than ideal:
1)Cleaning is an ordeal. In this day and age of non-stick bakeware, this pan stains easily, and requires way too much elbow work to make it worthwile. The idea of slip out bottoms is nifty, but you have to carefully 'slice' the bottom from the brownie or cake to detach the metal bottom. And then you have to clean and scrub those pieces too. Other pans I have like Nordicware release their cakes smoothly and easily even without the removable bottoms. And this is happening in spite of more than adequate greasing.
2) The other feature which I don't like is that for some reason the inside of whatever you're baking takes too long to bake and so by the time the pin tester comes out clean, the tops and bottoms of the cakes are overbaked and hard.
The pros: You DO get an amazing square shape that looks very professional, but that doesn't count for much if the end result isn't very edible.
Perfect Pan November 11, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I ordered this item to make square baby-block cupcakes for my sister's baby shower. What an excellent deal. This is a very high-quality item for a reasonable cost. The pan is made of heavy-guage metal and has some heft, is dishwasher-safe (yippee) and (best of all) comes with lift-out bottom "liners" of the same heavy-guage metal. This makes the cakes - no matter how moist and soft - removable with ease: no broken-off cakes whatsoever. I highly recommend this item.
