This set would make a perfect gift for cheese fanciers, equipping them with two stylish, heirloom-quality knives that between them cut, slice, cube, shave, chip, and spread all cheese types. Both knives have thick, heavy, stainless-steel blades that are double-beveled to fine edges and full-tang, riveted, synthetic handles. The bell-shaped knife (campana) is 7-1/2 inches long with a 4-inch-wide blade. A traditional implement for cutting rounds of cheese, removing cheese rinds, and cubing and shaving cheeses, it's ideal for crumbly cheeses like blues, as well as firm and semisoft cheeses. The heart-shaped knife (cuore) is 7 inches long and has a pointed blade to chip off morsels of aged, hard cheeses such as Parmesan. It can also be used to spread soft cheeses. --Fred Brack
