Product Description The curved shape of this wooden chopping bowl is designed to neatly accommodate the half-moon-shaped blade of its companion mezzaluna. As they are chopped, parsley, thyme, mint, and other herbs collect in the bottom of the hard maple bowl, which rests on rubber pads to help prevent skidding. The sides are indented so you can push a plate under the edge and scrape the chopped herbs overboard.
Amazon.com Review This aesthetically pleasing herb-chopping bowl is perfectly designed for its function. The slightly scooped bowl holds a handful of fresh herbs while you gently rock the curved mezzaluna ("half-moon") blade to chop them to the desired fineness. The matching curves of bowl and knife work perfectly to turn what can be a tedious task into a pleasing one. The modest size of the bowl (9-1/2 inches square) means that it's easy to pick up to add the herbs to your cooking. Don't be tempted to wash the bowl or blade in the dishwasher: the natural wood and oil finish require careful cleaning by hand with a mild soap. (Other extremes of moisture and temperature should also be avoided.) The bowl can be easily stored on its side, but it's so handsome, you may want to keep it out. --Sherry Smith

Great chopping tool for parsley, cilantro and similar herbs October 5, 2008 I love this product. It's very quick and easy to chop leafy herbs. The board is easy to clean by simply rinsing with water immediately after using.
Does the job! August 31, 2008 This version of a mezzaluna and chopping bowl are not quite as good as the one a friend has. A double-bladed mezzaluna works a lot faster. However, I like the footed board as it stays in place well on the countertop. I do wish it had a deeper bowl. It works very well for mincing herbs and I have also used it for mincing citrus zest.

I love this little board - especially the fact that it's bowl-shaped which keeps whatever I am chopping from flying all over the kitchen. It's a beautiful addition to any gourmet's kitchen and a wonderful what-to give-for Christmas gift.

I use a lot of fresh herbs in my cooking, but I have always hated cutting them up. With this wonderful chopper set I actually look forward to chopping herbs. It is so easy! It certainly validates the theory that one should have the right tool for the job.
