Editorial Reviews:
Amazon.com Review Introduced in 2003, this sovereign-shaped sorbet dish in Portmeirion's Botanic Garden pattern features a hand-decorated, flower motif inside the bowl, a garland of flowers on the outside, and a chain of leaves wrapping around the stem. A 5-1/2-inch-wide, flat rim with an overhanging lip sits atop a thick bowl and sturdy stem. Perfect for anything from desserts to dips to potpourri, this sorbet dish adds flavor to any treat and fresh air to any room. Crafted of high quality earthenware, the dish is safe in the dishwasher, microwave, and oven (to 340 degrees F). Rapid and extreme temperature changes should be avoided. Artist Susan Williams-Ellis found her inspiration for Botanic Garden from antique botanical illustration plates. The mix and match collection currently features around 30 individual floral and butterfly designs with the signature leaf motif border. This colorful dinnerware collection is complimented with a large range of bakeware, serving items and giftware. Botanic Garden has decorated homes all over the world for over 30 years. --Brian Olson
Product Description The plants and butterflies that make up Botanic Garden are from the exquisitely hand colored illustrations in the finest natural history books of the early 19th Century. Reproduced with true craftsmanship, these flowers have brilliance and life they had when first painted over 150 years ago.
