Product Description Making the perfect sauce has never been easier! Le Creuset's cast iron 2-qt. Saucier Pan has a wide, shallow design and curved side edges to make stirring efficient, so that any sauce will cook evenly and at the pace you dictate - a quicker boil for reducing volume or a slow gentle simmer to cook ingredients thoroughly. About Le Creuset... Since 1925, artisans have been crafting Le Creuset cookware in the French village of Fresnoy Le Grand. Each piece of Le Creuset cast iron cookware is handcast, polished, double enamel-coated and then fired, resulting in some of the finest quality cookware available. Cast iron is one of the best materials for distributing heat gently and thoroughly and is ideal for induction ranges. The strong enamel coating will not absorb odors or flavors, and is easy to clean. Heavy lids securely seal in moisture and flavor. Le Creuset cookware comes in a variety of sizes, colors and styles to match any kitchen and cooking preference. So lasting, you'll pass it on to the next generation of promising cooks.

Wow, great risotto pan July 23, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Being enameled cast iron, this thing gets very hot very evenly. I have moved cheese sauces to another saucier because of the heat factor. Non-cheese based sauces to tremendously in this saucier.
It heats so evenly and the inside has no seams or corners for sauce to hide in. I have found that it handles risotto fantastically!
The size is fine for 4 people but beyond that, you should consider another pan. Another limiting factor is the enamel... Remember that the inside is enameled as well as the outside. That makes food-sticking issues and clean up small problems. The rub is this; you shouldn't use metal whips on the ceramic surface. That means you have to use wooden utensils or silicon coated whips. I have a Le Creuset silicon whip and it's a pain to use and clean. Recently, that's discouraged me from using this saucier and I find myself using a larger, clad stainless steel saucier.
Overall, I'm happy with this. The risotto alone makes it a keeper, but small size and ceramic interior have forced me to use another saucier. If I had it to do all over again, I would have just bought the bigger saucier to begin with...
LOVE IT! March 8, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is almost too pretty to cook with. Nothing has ever stuck to it. It is so easy to clean that I love using it and I really love cooking more. The lid is also a great fit. I wish I could get one in every color and size. You won't regret this purchase! Perfect size too: not too small, not too big.
