Amazon.com Review For those who need to be dressed to perfection for work, the FreeStyle Pro irons clothes to a flawless finish. This iron has unique steam channels in the front of its soleplate that precondition fabric before ironing even begins, cutting down significantly on ironing time. Fast results are also due to the smooth Eloxal soleplate that has quick gliding action and distributes powerful steam across its entire surface. The FreeStyle Pro also has a Power Shot button, which sends a single five-second blast of steam when either ironing horizontally or vertically steaming drapes or hanging garments. Another easy-to-reach button instantly stops the steam flow. Other features of this iron include a unique textile protector that snaps over the soleplate. This attachment allows for full steam output while absorbing much of the heat, so it protects delicate fabrics and reduces the appearance of shiny patches on darker clothing. Safety precautions include a three-way automatic shutoff mechanism that turns the iron off if it rests for too long in either a horizontal, vertical, or side-lying position. This iron has an open handle with a rubberized grip for better maneuverability and more comfort during long ironing sessions. Braun covers this appliance with a one-year limited warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

Too many problems July 24, 2008 I bought the FreeStylePro a 1 1/2 years ago. It just stopped working. During that time I was not happy with the water leaking out of the plate & the fact that I had to unplug it when not in use - I would not trust the auto shut off. Like others have said - all the bells & whistles are useless - just need a simple good iron. I will try to contact Braun & see if I can get a replacement.
Perpetuating the iron stereotype. July 14, 2006 As irons go, this one blends right in. From the first time it's fired up it produces insufficient and irregular heat. Auto-shutoff paranoia is warranted as the unit will choose when to shut down, apparently via some random algorithm, not at the documented time. I've seen it run anywhere from 1 minute to 8 hours before turning off. Then there's the leakage -- you will get wet. Some of this may be due to the insufficient heat but I've had the unit on max and seen it empty the reservoir in short time. To summarize: not only will this iron see you off to work in wrinkled and wet clothes, it may also burn the house down while you're there.
I love this iron! March 16, 2006 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought this iron because my old iron kept leaking water and ruining my clothes. I did a lot of research and decided on this one. I'm glad I did. I love it! I've had it 3 months now and have not had any problems. Definately a good buy!
What Auto Shut off? September 26, 2004 8 out of 15 found this review helpful
I have had this iron for 3 weeks and already the auto shut off feature has stopped working. I had a great deal of difficulty finding an iron that I wanted to buy, becasue I have not been able to find any that have both manual and auto shut off. I know I should be unplugging the iron each day, but I just don't want to have to do that. I am usually pleased with Braun products, so I resigned to the fact that I was not going to find "the" iron and purchased a brand that I trust. The iron was fine, not exceptional, until I got home from work last week and the iron was still on (10 hours later). I am very disappointed and the iron is going back today!
great steam iron August 9, 2004 13 out of 14 found this review helpful
I've this for a litle over 2 months. And have cut my ironing time in 1/2. It steams beautifully and pressing out the worst of the wrinkle without the need to press down on the iron. This is summer when there is a lot more to iron - all those cottons and linens. No drips, no drops or surprises. I saw that a man wrote a review of this iron and liked it! Any man who can iron and like it, well at least like the iron he's using, has to insprire me! That's why I decided to give this product a chance. He was right, it glides and performs extremely well. I DON'T like to iron. It's one of those thank less tasks in life; people just expect you to show up in unwrinkled clothes. Although I'd rather not have to iron, this machine makes it so much easier - and it gets done in a lot less time.
