This hand-crafted salad bowl is a must-have for hostesses of frequent garden parties or bridal showers and makes a tasteful wedding gift for couples who enjoy fine entertaining. The bowl's brilliant luster captures the elegance of antique silver but is actually made of hand-polished aluminum, which is much easier for today's busy hostesses to maintain. The design features three graceful magnolia blossoms with leaves and three hanging buds in bas-relief set an equal distance apart from one another along the rim of the bowl. Intricately crafted branches serve as the handles and continue all the way around the bowl's edge. A slightly flared lip makes the bowl easy to carry and keeps food from spilling over the rim. With a 14-inch diameter, this bowl is a perfect size for serving a mesclun greens salad or gazpacho for a 10-person buffet. This aluminum serveware is not dishwasher-safe but cleans easily with mild soap and water. Spraying the bowl with vegetable oil just before serving will protect the polished finish from dulling or discoloration that can occur when serving highly acidic or salty foods. Matching salad servers with branch-shaped handles and blooming heads are available separately to complete the set.
