Amazon.com Review This grape-themed canister is a practical yet charming way to store and display dry goods in a traditional-style kitchen. The octagonal shaped jar is fashioned out of heavy, honeycomb-patterned glass. Measuring 11 inches tall (16-1/2 inches with the lid on) with a 5-3/4-inch diameter, this large canister probably holds about 8 pounds of spaghetti, several dozen cookies, or a restaurant-sized supply of dried beans. The snap-on lid has a brilliant luster that captures the elegance of antique silver; however, it is actually made of hand-polished aluminum, which is much easier to maintain. The lid is hand-crafted in the shape of bunches of grapes with several drooping leaves and features an intricately carved vine as its handle. A plastic underside along with a rubber gasket along the lid's edge form a tight seal to keep baked and dry goods fresher for longer. The canister itself is dishwasher-safe but the lid must be cleaned with mild soap and water. This set works wonderfully with other casual pieces in the grape kitchen collection, such as the salt and pepper set, paper towel holder, and utensil crock. As Arthur and Elena Court, owners of Arthur Court Designs, are avid conservationists, a percentage of all proceeds of their products go directly to wildlife preservation and environmental research and education projects. --Cristina Vaamonde
