This delicate little salt-and-pepper set is a sweet accessory to display alongside other Arthur Court magnolia-design serveware but is versatile enough to pair with any formal tableware. Each miniature shaker is designed in a cylindrical shape out of swirled glass and stands about 3 inches tall with a slim 1/2-inch diameter. The screw-on lids are made of stainless steel to avoid staining or pitting from the salt. The shakers rest within graceful magnolia buds on a hand-crafted stand, which also features detailed leaves and a branch for a handle. The brilliant luster of the stand captures the elegance of antique silver; however, it is actually made of hand-polished aluminum, which is much easier for today's busy hostesses to maintain. The stand is not dishwasher-safe but cleans easily with mild soap and water--and, because the shakers are breakable, it is advisable to wash them by hand as well. This set makes a wonderful shower gift for the bride who has registered for other pieces in the magnolia collection.
