Key to its high performance is a three-ply, bonded construction. Sandwiched between the exterior and an 18/10 stainless-steel interior lies a thick core of pure aluminum that spreads heat evenly across the bottoms of pots and pans and all the way up the sides. The interior is highly polished so it's stick- as well as corrosion-resistant. The striking exterior resists scratching, chipping, and peeling. A great wedding gift, this kit makes it easy to cook a one-dish meal for two. The 2-quart pan, 8 inches in diameter and 2-1/4 inches deep, is large enough to accommodate a chicken-and-mushroom dish on the stovetop under its domed lid. The pan can also go into the oven for slow cooking pot roast. To stir and serve, there's a 13-inch, dishwasher-safe solid spoon of polished 18/10 stainless steel. The handles on this pan stay cool on the stovetop, but for lifting the saute pan's lid or grasping its handle from the oven, you might want to use the bright red quilted mitt that's included. Handles are made of polished 18/10 stainless steel, and won't be harmed by an oven's highest heat. LTD cookware carries a lifetime warranty against defects and should be hand washed. --Fred Brack
