Just one cup whenever I want it! September 30, 2008 20 out of 39 found this review helpful
I work alone in a small school library. Currently, I am going through the entire collection, getting rid of old, unread books, then processing the keepers for automation. It is a tedious process. After lunch every day I literally fall asleep. Something had to be done!! I needed coffee!!
I began looking for a 4-cup coffeemaker to buy and take to school (thinking that's as small as a unit comes). Then I spotted the one-cup-at-a-time units! I like Black & Decker products and I prefer white appliances, so this Cup-at-a-Time Coffeemaker caught my attention at once. In addition, I always read reviews for product evaluation. This one ranked high.
It's at school now, near my computer, and in its little work area containing two mugs, spoon, creamer, sugar. It's a delightful little machine, designed to please just one person at a time. And it does.
(Note: Just one detraction: A mug does not pour well. At first, I found it difficult to pour water into the well without spilling any. Solved that problem by buying a plastic measuring cup with a spout. No spills now!)
just OK September 24, 2008 Makes an adequate cup of coffee. I find it hard to get the water in without dampening the filter basket, but if I take the basket out first, I'm good. If you like STRONG coffee, this is not the maker for you as extra coffee grounds will spew back up into the works and be hard to remove. I'm also adding a paper filter (technically unnecessary) to slow the water through the grounds for more strength, and that helps. If you just like ordinary coffee, this maker does get the job done.
Great little coffee maker September 23, 2008 This is my second Black & Decker DCM7 - my first one gave up after serving me well for many years. I couldn't think of anything I wanted to change, so I bought the same product again. It brews a good cup of coffee in almost no time, and I can avoid both the waste of making too much, and the ick factor of instant.
The best coffee maker ever. September 19, 2008 We have had this coffee maker in our home so long it should be replaced just because it looks old - day after day, average of 7 cups a day, this machine just keeps on going - if u need a one cup at a time coffee maker I highly recomend looking into this one - I dont think it can be beat.
Good in a pinch September 15, 2008 For an office in which no one else drinks coffee, this was my only choice. The unit makes a decent cup of joe, but drink it fast - there is no warmer. The filter works fine and is easily cleaned. My only real concern is the small openning. Most of my mugs did not fit and I was limited to a 6 oz or 8 oz mug.
