Best kitchen tool I own January 29, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I have an AeroMatic 910 and I love it. I use it at least five times a week. I cook meats, fish and potatoes in it. All of my food comes out evenly cooked and not dried out. My family even thinks that the food tastes better when I use the AeroMatic. It makes the best bacon without having the bacon frying in its own fat and without any bacon fat splattering around my kitchen. I really like that I don't have to hover over the bacon making sure it doesn't burn or clean up any bacon fat outside of the oven.
I find that meat and fish broil to perfection without any extra oil or fat. My Dad saw me use the oven to make scallops, chicken and bacon on one of his visits. He liked it so much that he went to buy one.
I have not experienced any of the problems the other reviewer has described. Matter of fact, I put the glass bowl and internal racks in the dishwasher all the time without any negative reactions. Sometimes, I use the unit itself to clean the cooking bowl. I put a half an inch of water, a couple of drops of soap into the bowl, then, I put the top unit on, set the temp for 200 degrees, the timer for 10 mins. and walk away. The oven comes out clean and all I have to do is rinse and dry.
As far as the top unit goes, the booklet I have tells you not to wash the top with detergent. You are only supposed to wipe the top unit with a sponge or damp cloth. Also, I was able to get through to Aroma Housewares Customer Service very easily at 858-558-8866. Granted they were not the friendliest of people, but they immediately took my phone call.
The only time I don't like the oven, is when I'm baking a flat cake. The center doesn't come out cooked enough. If you want to bake with it, you really do need a tube pan.
In conclusion, I like my oven so much that I will be giving two away this year as wedding gifts.
You were warned. July 12, 2007 15 out of 16 found this review helpful
The chrome on the racks in this oven chips off very quickly into your food. Virtually no one carries replacement parts. The oven cooks OK, but the numbers that tell you temperature and time wash off with dish soap. So after a few uses, you have to guess. Aroma's customer service is answered by a machine - even in the middle of the day - and you are told to call back during regular business hours. If you do elect to leave message - you will grow old waiting for a return call.
