 Moderately good product, great customer service September 20, 2008
I purchased this pepper grinder in May 2007 and used it on a pretty regular basis until the squeeze handle broke in September 2008.
I was pretty irritated and contacted amazon.com for a replacement. They were unable to replace the item, but gave me the manufacturer's contact info.
I emailed Chef'n that night and got a very quick response. They were very apologetic and sent a replacement within 10 days.
The product itself isn't the best I've ever used but I liked that it was a one-handed pepper grinder. I use kosher salt and it doesn't flow easily from the top, but it's not that big of an issue. The customer service of Chef'n, however, was so efficient and great that I would repurchase products from them in the future.

Amazon, Amazon, Amazon. This one should really not pass as an acceptable thing to sell. The salt absolutely pours out of control. Because it was not too expensive, it wasn't worth the hassle of returning it. I have an older Chef'n Bistro combo grinder that is fabulous, but it's getting old and yucky looking and I wanted to replace it. I have no idea why they "improved" the design. Big mistake. Anyway, don't buy it. You'll be sorry.

This was a nice pepper grinder, and it lasted us about 6 months of light to moderate use. Once it breaks there is no hope of repair. If the internal components were metal, the squeeze style handle would be good.

I love my salt & pepper combo! I like the fact of having the salt & pepper all in one while I am cooking & I like grinding the pepper fresh - it makes me feel like a Chef-lol It has a switch to choose the size flakes, which is nice & the refill of the peppercorns is not too bad - sometimes they do fall everywhere, but mostly go in the hole. The best thing is you can sprinkle salt, grind pepper all with 1 hand! Works good for a mom to toddler twins *smile*

Well i did love this grinder until today i just used it as normal & the grinder handle just cracked in half! What a shame to be so cheap...i guess maybe you should look for another brand (sad pepper mill owner)
