Has been great for puppy's nails October 3, 2008 This dremel has been great for my puppys nails. It so much better then spending $10 to get her nails trimmed. She doesn't mind the sound. The only thing she doesn't like is that we have to hold her paw still for a period of time. I feel a lot more comfortable with this tool then nail clippers. She has black nails so its very hard to see where the quik is. We haven't hit the quik once since we have this dremel. We haven't had any problems since we have owned this.
Works beyond expectations for dog nails October 3, 2008 After reading every ad and searching all possible feedback from Amazon to the American Kennel Club on the best product for sanding dogs toenails, I settled on the Dremel 750. I have two large lab mixes who HATE to have their toenails cut and must be muzzled by a professional at $10 each per visit. I also attempt to cut them myself with regular clippers, but I never cut them short enough for fear of cutting the quik. For much less than products who claimed supreme, and less than 24 hour shipping turn around, I ordered this on Sept. 30 and had it on the charger the afternoon of Oct. 1. With Super Saver Shipping, it was the best deal on the Internet here through Amazon.com. And with a rechargeable battery included the value can't be beat compared to other "as seen on TV" brands that use batteries. As I had read in a previous review, last night I just let it sit on the counter running on low to get my dogs used to the sound. If they seemed interested, I'd give them a treat. After doing that earlier today again, I started to touch their nails with it and give a treat immediately after each tap(something really special like cheese or a bit of meat). My one lab who has bitten several times before during his trimmings, sat quietly after only about 10 minutes of giving the cheese and touching all the toenails. Even though it's a bit noisy, it's nothing compared to other trimmers. If my paranoid pooches can deal with it, any dog will tolerate it if you take your time and get them used to it first. After about 30 minutes, I had their nails shorter and MUCH smoother than we'd ever gotten before. And my dogs weren't freaked out in any way. It was wonderful! Not only will this save me loads of money on professional services, I'm able to do it more often which keeps the dogs more comfortable and saves my hardwood floors. Tonight was the first time in years I didn't hear my dogs clicking up and down the hall. Thank you to the person who took the time to write about this product and for their recommendation of giving the treats over time before doing the nails. This was the key to success for my dogs and didn't take very long at all. You will not be disappointed with this product. I'm giving them as Christmas gifts to family with pets.
Fabulous for my dogs' nails! September 30, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this Dremel to use for grinding my dogs' nails rather than the Dremel specified for pet use as this tool has a rechargeable battery. I love it!! I was using the more powerful, bulky Wizard and comparatively, this Dremel is a dream! It's light weight, easy to charge and quiet enough as to not freak out the dogs :) Highly recommended to anyone that grinds their dog's nails or is thinking about converting from a clipper!
Dremel Minimite... great! September 29, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This product works great... exactly as advertised! I purchased primarily to file my large dog's nails... works like a charm! With all the attachments, it has uses beyond that. The battery life is very good. Would definitely purchase again.
Awesome September 29, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love this thing. I bought it to file down my dog's nails, which didn't happen because she's very highly spirited, but the dremel is really cool. I use it to trim my own nails, it's easier and faster than filing them down.
