Fantastic Earth Box August 15, 2008 EarthBox RB-EB-GRN-PBB Garden Kit Dark Green I love the earth box! We planted tomatoes in the earth box (2 plants) and planted the same variety of tomato in the ground with the same soil, fertilizer and watering. The earth box tomatoes have literally four to five times the fruit and the size is 5-6' in height compared to the 2-2 1/2' of the in-ground tomatoes. They are fabulous for patios, balcony gardens. I now have 4 and I love them.
Works in the desert August 13, 2008 Our boxes are located on an extremely windy balcony high up in a Reno high rise. We can go more than a week without replenishing with about 5-6 quarts of water. The plants are doing great, and flowering.
The boxes are easy to assemble. Make sure you attach the wheels if you are in a tight space; the boxes will roll nicely even when heavily loaded.
So Far So Good! August 4, 2008 I ordered the Earthbox and followed the directions for planting and to date both my tomato plants and basil are thriving. I planted everything rather late, but the Earthbox seems to speed up the process somewhat. The verdict is still out until we cut into our first tomato, but it does look very promising!

Being a user of Earthboxes for about 8 years and living in the desert SW, I have found them to be a perfect solution to the near-constant problem we have here - namely water. The box that I purchased is quite a bit different than the original, but looks like it will function as well. Your delivery was very fast and I am totally satisfied.
Seems to work July 28, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've never gardened in my life, but decided to give it a try this year. I think the Earthbox has been a good way to start figuring things out. I didn't have to dedicate a corner of my yard for a garden (and given the rocky soil we live on, it's probably better that way), and 2 people can move it, so you don't have to worry about where it's placed.
I was a little frustrated with the Earthbox at first: we live in a windy area and the wind would make the plastic cover flap around; I think it actually killed a couple of our small plants. We finally put some large rocks between the plants to anchor it, and now that they've grown more, the wind isn't an issue.
