Great Hot Chocolate December 16, 2008
I've had my Latte Maker for a few years and use it often in the winter. My kids really enjoy it too. It mixes the hot chocolate nicely and we can put milk in without worrying about burning etc. Cleaning it is a bit of a chore but not too bad if you do it right after making the cocoa and use a bristle brush. It can be a bit messy if you overfill the container too (make sure to include room for the dry mix and only fill to the line). My only problem is the frother. The button went out and now it only heats and stirs. So I'm not as happy with it now because the froth feature was it's big selling point to our family. It's a good product though. Some people may want hotter liquid too but for my kids it's just the right temperature. I liked it enough that I'm here looking at prices for new ones because I'll probably replace it when the other switch goes out. I notice the newer versions look like they have better switches so maybe they are designed to prevent what happened to mine.

This product is far better than the other hot Chocolate makers out there. It make it frothy and the perfect temp for sipping on cold winter nights. We use this machine about 3-4 times a week. It is great for get togethers because you can leave it running and all you have to do is fill the cups up. It does not take long to heat up and it is great. I like to use a half milk half/ water mix for mine.

I stumbled across this little machine during a sale and succumbed. There's nothing I like better than to start the morning with a frothy cafe latte and this little machine more than meets my expectations. It's quick; it's easy. Long before I'm fully awake my machine froths up the latte and sets me on my path. I haven't tried anything else since all I wanted was the latte service but I'm sure the machine is more than up to the job. Can you buy something more expensive and maybe get a better latte? Perhaps. I don't know. This one works just fine for me...enough for me to buy one as a Christmas present for a friend.

I got my first hot chocolate maker about 3 years ago, and loved it, although it was a pain to try to keep it clean of old milk when it can't be immersed or put in the dishwasher. Then, after less than a year, the spigot handle snapped off. Eventually I got another one, and less than a year later, the spigot handle snapped off again! Also, this time, no matter what i do (scrubbing with toothbrushes, vinegar baths, etc), I cannot get the old milk smell out of it. When I look in the spigot, there is old crusty milk inside that i can't reach to get out. Gross! I'll be trying a different brand of hot chocolate maker next time. The only reason this doesn't get one star is because for the first few months of each machine, i was really happy with it.
