| Customer Reviews:
Excellent replacement for an older Air Station September 30, 2008 The new Black and Decker Air Station is very versatile and could be used anywhere since it may be pluged in to regular household electricity or plug in to the car while on the road. It is lightweight and easy to use.
Great for High PSI Van tires too! September 13, 2008 This automatic air pump had three jobs to make me happy: First, it had to inflate my wife's toyota's tires (32 psi). This tool makes it flawless, fast and easy. Also, it needed to inflate our mountain bike tires (50 psi). This device makes it outrageously easy and fast. Finally, it needed to fill the tires to both my vans (80 psi). This apparatus does the trick nicely. For all applications I need it for, the auto turn off makes the chore mindless and accurate. While it is fast for car and bicycle tires, it is a little more time consuming for my van tires which are big. Hence, the auto turn off comes to the rescue again. I just let it do its thing while I do my own thing. Just so you get an idea; bikes that are about 10-20 lbs low it takes about a minute per tire; cars that are 5-10 pounds low, I figure it takes about 2-3 minutes per tire and for van tires that are about 10-20 lbs too low it takes easily 5 minutes per tire and often more than that. Still, it does it, and this little dance I do with the air station sure beats going to the gas station, hoping the pump with the faulty built in gauge is working and taped up properly and sweating to beat the all too short timer that all too often cuts me off either a few pounds before I am finished or a whole tire too soon...phooey! This air station is a little loud, so make sure you don't use it too late at night or too early in the morning. It hums along and soon one gets used to the noise. Hope that helps, Michael
Great product September 11, 2008 This Air Station is well made and portable, easy to use and so far, has worked well.I am a female and so it is not too heavy to haul around and work with. Works great on my mountain bike tires that I have to keep inflated.
Good so far September 11, 2008 I've only used it once so far. I have three vehicles and check the tires in all of them at least once a month and my cheapie motorized air pump gave up a few weeks ago so looked around, saw the write-up on this one and sent for it. I've always had good luck with B&D products.
I hooked it up to house power and was pleasantly surprised how fast it pumped up the car tires. People talked about the excessive noise but it was a lot quieter than the one I had. I really like the auto shut off but the dial where you set it is very small so I try and set it for a pound or two above what I'm trying to reach as it's easier to let a little air out than hook the unit back up for 1 or 2 more pounds.
The only two very small gripes I have is that the house power cord is very short and the location of the AC-DC/ON-OFF power switch is in an inconvenient place.
So far so good.
Not Blowing Hot Air September 7, 2008 A great little product. It works well and is very easy to use. I don't agree with the reviews that complain about the short power cord. B&D knows you're probably going to use an extension cord unless they provide a power cord that is 25' long. Just not practicable. And not cost effective.
I found the gauge to be fairly accurate, but agree with others that you should check he pressure with a separate gauge.
I like his unit a lot.
