Works great for small jobs August 6, 2007 The Garden Weasel is easy to use, works well for small jobs in the garden, or to loosen up dirt in bare patches on a lawn to help with re-seading.
No complaints in my garden! July 19, 2007 Plain and simple...this product is made to get rid of small weeds from an already cultivated garden...and mine does just that! The ground in my garden is loose so the weasel does just what it says...just be careful not to stab your garden hose...those tines are pretty sharp and turn garden hoses into sprinklers!
Great tool if you use it right July 14, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Some reviewers seem to be confusing a cultivator with a tiller. This is a light duty cultivator, and should not be thought of as a tiller. A cultivator is mostly about new weed control and light soil aeration when you have to work in close quarters. Don't use it for ground prep before spring planting, use it between the growing plants. If you have a small bare patch of lawn you want to reseed, this is a tool to help you loosen and aerate the soil for seeding. Got a bunch of tall grass or weeds to clear out? Cut them down or chop them out with a hoe first, then the Weasel will help cut out the roots. Hard pack soil needs to be broken with another tool first or at least thoroughly moistened.
If the blades get tangled in plant material they can stop rotating. If you force the tool they can snap off. The set screws do tend to loosen up with use, but an occasional drop of glue on the threads shows that down without permanently doing anything. It's a light duty tool, to be sure, but it does a great job for it's intended purpose and I wouldn't be without one. Try using different blade configurations for different jobs, and don't forget that in really tight spots you can use just one blade. It's great! Glad to see you can get them online since they are hard to find in the stores.
Garden Weasel July 12, 2007 It works best in dry or wet sandy soil or already tilled wet soil. Only thing that is an "issue" are the nuts holding the "tines" in the bar. They tend to loosen up after 15 feet.
second one July 5, 2007 used my last one until it fell apart. couldn't find one in the stores. glad to have a new one.
