Amazon.com Review A good table saw comes with a perfectly good miter gauge. But this Incra is perfectly great. It's precise, versatile, infinitely adjustable and custom-fits to your miter gauge slot. You're probably familiar with the Incra name because of their fantastic dovetail and box-joint-making jigs, but they've got a wide product line all with precision at the top of the list. An ingenious flip-stop locks down at any point along the fence for repeatable cuts, and it flips out of the way without disturbing your placement if you have other cuts to make as well. The fence actually telescopes out, from a closed length of 18 inches to a fully extended 30 inches for superior stock stability. The miter gauge itself has 41 detents in 5-degree increments across the entire 180 degrees, with special stops at 22-1/2 and 67-1/2 degrees, all gauged by angle indexing teeth for unparalleled accuracy. In addition, you can make 1/10th-degree adjustments with the stainless steel vernier cursor. The thing we like best about this jig is its ability to custom fit to your miter gauge groove, courtesy of six disks along the length of the slot bar. With a turn of an allen wrench, each one expands or contracts individually to get you the absolute best fit on your table, leaving you with zero play between bar and channel and zero chance for error. Incra's also designed a neat top-mounted tab that fits a T-slot and removes in a few second for plain channels, letting you move the jig from your T-slotted table saw to other tools with a standard groove, such as a router table. We're pretty taken with this setup, and we think anyone who craves precision will love it, too.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste

Love It!! August 19, 2008 Not much to say except that I LOVE It! Not much this can't do. The miter stops are dead on, easy to use, and has a great push handle system. The locking pins to set angles work like a charm. The guide bar itself is amazing. It has different sized exchangeable wheels that takes up slack in the miter channel and the fence. Glides like silk.
My favorite TS accessory August 12, 2008 I purchased the 1000SE in April 2007 on Amazon since it was on sale for $99. I really didn't need a new miter gauge, but I could not pass it up at that price.
Since I used a cross-cut sled, the 1000SE sat in the box for months since I didn't have much of a use for it. Then, I dropped my cross cut sled, splitting it. I didn't want to take the time to rebuild the sled, so I pulled out the 1000SE. After taking a few minutes to set it up, I tried it out and was pleased with the results. I then had to cut some angles and it was so easy to dial in the correct angles and make accurate, repeat cuts.
One year later, I still have not rebuilt the crosscut sled and use the 1000SE for all cross cut and miter cuts on the table saw. The gauge is dead on accurate and I feel confident that my cuts are perfect every time I use it. If you are still using the stock Miter Gauge, the 1000SE should be on your list of upgrades.
1000se: Just needs a little tweaking March 13, 2008 Okay, it's not perfect. But, with a little tender loving care, you can tweak this bad-boy into being the miter gauge that you've dreamt about. Break out your indicators and squares, and shim and twist for an hour or so to bring this tool into square with your blade.
Using this tool on a PowerMatic 64A with a Freud glue-line blade I am able to cross-cut a jointed 12" board, and have less than 0.011 TIR (my stock MG produced TIRs between 0.020 and 0.045! And, I have to admit that my cross-cut sled will yield less than .009 TIR). But, we're talking about a miter gauge, it's used for shorter items, and that 0.011 TIR on a 12" board translates into less than 0.003 TIR on a 2" workpiece (that's darn near the surface condition left by the blade).
Good value for the money February 8, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My husband swears by this product. This was a Christmas gift and he is wondering how he ever lived without it. The miter gauges that come with the table saws are junk. This made 45degree angles a lot easier to cut and is accurate.
The quality is superb too. Nicely made. He has gotten a lot of use making accurate angled cuts.
I looked around at Rockler and other tools stores and Amazon had this special edition at a great price with free shipping.
I like it but it could be better. January 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I only have one complaint and I think others have voiced the same thing. The top of the miter gauge that the fence screws onto is not at a perfect 90 degree angle. I had to put strips of masking tape on the miter gauge to correct the fence. What good is cutting any angle if the piece you are cutting is not resting at a perfect 90 degrees going into the saw blade? This is a serious issue I think Incra needs to address. Other than that, and the instructions not being for that particular model, it does a very good job. If you want cuts with minimal tear-out just put a piece of masking tape on the back of the cut.
