Perfect for our medical application January 3, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This unit is the only product on the market that I've found that shoots a dot on a wall. It's perfect for our medical applications in our Diagnostic Tests for ENG's and VAT's.
The unit comes with 3 different setting: Dot, Line, and Crosshair. It also has a mini jack stand to elevate the laser and 2 mini-levels to help you set the unit perfectly level.
Easy to use!! June 10, 2006 I got this item as a christmas gift and I love it!! I have used it to hang multiple pictures and it works great. Whats more, it's very simple to use.
Great device to hang an exhibit December 8, 2005 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I just hung a large exhibit in a photo gallery using this laser level. Four photographers were quickly able to align and hang all their photographs with the device.
If the face of the unit is not absolutely parallel to the wall you will not get a level laser line. That's where the cross-hairs function is essential. Make sure that you find a line on the floor that is absolutely perpendicular to the wall. Line the center of your tripod up with your end of the line and have the vertical cross hair laser beam line up with the line where it intersects the wall. If you do this you will have an accurate level laser line on the wall. Aim the laser level either slightly to the left or right and your level will be way off. If the face of the laser level is absolutely parallel to the wall your level will be accurate.
The device really works best on a tripod so that you can stand back to throw a line across an entire wall and easily use the bubble level on its top surface to get the laser device, itself, to be level.
This laser level, unlike many (I have a collection of them but this is now the only one I use) has a very strong laser output so that even in strong lighting it's easy to see the laser beam.
Of course we could have hung this show without using a laser level but there is no doubt, based on hanging many shows over many years, that the Bushnell Pivot Point Laser Level enabled us to do it much faster and with much less effort than hanging a show without it.
Also, this device is a bargain. Similar laser levels at Home Depot, etc., cost much more.
An absolute disappointment! January 7, 2005 11 out of 12 found this review helpful
I got this laser leveler as a Christmas gift. I was excited to use it; however, when it came to actually trying to get a level line this item missed the mark completely. The directions say for quick leveling aim it where the wall and floor meet (assuming that your floor is level)...once you have it level you must raise the pivot head to where you would like your line. In actuality, when you raise the pivot head your line becomes completely crooked. The levelers are no help. Sure, it has two of them, but as soon as your raise the pivot head one of them is rendered useless leaving the job of leveling a guessing game. I might be mistaken, but I thought that this tool was supposed to take the guessing out of leveling. Don't waste your valuable time with this contraption.
