Hole saws provide the quickest, most efficient way to cut large-diameter holes. And like most tools, they're much more affordable when purchased in a multi-piece set. The Milwaukee 49-22-4086 17-Piece Electrician's Hole Saw Kit combines high-quality tooling and industrial engineering with economical packaging. The result is a versatile, affordable professional-duty hole-saw kit that can accommodate nearly all large-hole cutting jobs.

The kit includes twelve bi-metal hole saws in the following diameters: 5/8-inch, 3/8-inch, 7/8-inch, 1-inch., 1-1/8-inch, 1-1/4-inch, 1-3/8-inch, 1-1/2-inch, 1-3/4-inch, 2-inch, 2-1/2-inch, 3-inch. The saws, which fit 1/2-inch drills, have four or six teeth per inch with varying tooth sets and gullet depths. As a result, the hole saws cut faster, last longer, run cooler, and offer better chip clearance than most other hole saws. And, the saws are designed to cut at a reduced feed pressure, meaning you don't have to muscle-up and force the saw through the work piece. The kit also includes three pilot bits and two arbors. All of the pieces fit neatly into a plastic storage case.

Milwaukee 49-22-4086 17-Piece Electrician's Hole Saw Kit was created for professional electricians, but it would be valuable to plumbers, HVAC installers, sheet metal workers, and serious DIYers. The hole saws can be used to cut through a wide variety of building materials, including steel, aluminum, metal studs, copper, galvanized flashing, brass, sheet metal, stainless steel, wood, plywood, particleboard, oriented-strand board, asphalt shingles, and all kinds of plastic. --Joseph Truini

5 out of 5 stars Good stuff!   August 4, 2008
Purchased after using one of those removable blade holesaws. They are not terribly good. I do have a few other fixed holesaw bits but this is the first set I have purchased since. This set covers just about all the holesaw sizes you will need and there are multiple drill inserts and replacement bits too. Easily cuts through wood, plasterboard and even sheet metal. Durable and tough.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent holesaws   June 21, 2008
I bought my set several years ago and have used them at least a dozen times.

As to the customer who said "the teeth are uneven" - guess what! They're supposed to
be unevenly spaced; that way you don't set up resonances in the workpiece anywhere
near as badly (and can therefore get a clean cut even on things like thin aluminium).
Indeed, that's what 4/6 means in the "teeth per inch" - the tooth spacing varies
randomly between 4 and 6 teeth per inch.

These are the good stuff. I have no regrets and since I had to buy a second set for
the lab, this is what I got.

Note: this set stops at 3" diameter; you may want to get an extra saw at 3.5
and 4". I also bought another intermediate size for a special job I was doing; the
intermediate size fits in the case, but alas, the 3.5 and 4" does not.

I got this kit,I've only used the 3/4 but I drilled 62 holes, yes 62 holes in 1"3/8 steel tubing .90 thick and still cutting great. I couldn't be happier.

3 out of 5 stars surprised!   February 4, 2007

On this product that I received, the painting is terrible and it makes usage hard. Also, two holesaws are stuck together and it was hard and strenuous to separate it. All the razors on the blade are uneven. I'm very surprised and unsatisfied that this well-known Milwaukee brand has such terrible workmanship.

This set is the closest I could find to the sizes we needed. Milwaukee hole saws hold their edge pretty well
