The charger is easier to use than earlier units produced and is much faster. It plugs into a standard outlet without a large unit blocking use of other outlets.

Good quality charger , works much quicker than standard charger -- Gives visual indication of charging status -- Can be mounted on wall easily with a screw , so charger is out of the way

This product worked great and charged faster than the original. Also holds charge on cradle when not in use for extended periods.
Great Decision September 25, 2008
I am somewhat of the "Impatient" type of people that can't wait, what seems to be forever, to re-charge a Ni-Cad battery using the charging device supplied with your tool purchase. I found this charger and said, "I've got to give it a try." What a great decision! Simple to use and I haven't really timed it but it has to be 3x times faster than the cheap re-chargers I mentioned above AND it gives you a full charge. Do yourself a favor that you won't regret. Excellent unit for the price and Amazon had it to me a day before I was expecting it to arrive.
 Misleading product description September 19, 2008
I bought this charger based on the product description that says it will work with all B&D 18V slide style batteries. This is not true. It does not work with the 18V slide style batteries that come with certain B&D tool sets such as the Black & Decker #BDC318R-2 3PC 18V Drill Combo Kit. B&D customer support confirmed this false claim. I have no idea what other B&D tools have batteries that it wil not charge, however it does work with the batteries that come with Black & Decker 18-Volt Cordless Electric 12-Inch Grass Hog String Trimmer/Edger #NST2018.
