Product Description This multi-purpose blade will cut stacks of manmade wood products as well as hardwood and softwood up to 2-3/4" thick. The blade's deep gullets and TCG rip and crosscut through hardwoods and softwoods with ease. Although the ideal working range ins 1/2" - 2-3/4" thick, thinner or thicker materials may be cut, resulting in some loss of surface finish. Application: Long Life In Stacked Chipboard And Manmade Materials
Amazon.com Product Description The Freud Difference Freud manufactures some of the most innovative, technologically advanced saw blades in the world. To ensure that the highest quality products meet the toughest design standards, Freud owns and operates six manufacturing facilities in Western Europe. Freud is one of the few manufacturers of woodworking tools in the world that produces its own MicroGrain carbide with titanium, called TiCo -- a combination of titanium and cobalt. Freud develops different types of carbide for each application to maximize the cutting life and performance of the tool; and Freud also operates one of the most modern product development research centers in Europe. By overseeing the entire manufacturing process from start to finish, Freud guarantees some of the highest quality, most advanced products in the industry. About Freud Industrial Blades Freud's industrial series blades were designed for the serious woodworker. Available in a variety of styles for different applications, LU blades feature thick carbide tips, precision-tensioned bodies found in every Freud quality blade. Some LU blades include a red Teflon coating that helps reduce friction, heat build-up, and gumming -- which prolongs the life of the blade. About this Crosscutting and Ripping Saw Blade The Freud 10-inch 60-tooth industrial crosscut and rip saw blade is an ideal choice for use with all table saws, radial arm saws, and miter saws -- in order to create precise crosscuts in softwood, hardwood, fine moldings, and picture frame molding. The Laser-cut anti-vibration slots drastically reduce vibration and sideways movement while extending blade life. With the ability to give consistent swirl-free finishes, the thick MicroGrain carbide tips allow for more cuts between sharpening. Applications Use this blade on table, radial arm or miter saws for rips and crosscuts. It creates chip-free cuts in chipboard, laminates, melamine or solid surface materials 1/2-inch to 2-3/4 inches. Key Tech Specs:

- 1/2-inch minimum crosscutting
- 2-3/4-inch maximum crosscutting
- 3/8-inch minimum ripping

Rip Capabilities of a combo blade April 6, 2008 This blade replaced a 24 tooth exclusive rip blade (Freud also, in the same price range). I can tell no significant difference in the quality and effort needed to rip maple. And it doesn't splinter cross grain plywood badly. Seems a good value.
Nice Blade March 15, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Nice blade. As expected very smooth cut. The cost is that it removes a lot of wood. It performed as expected. This is a finishing blade and I might try a thinner blade with the same number of teeth as my next purchase. Some wood is very expensive.
Impressive Blade March 3, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
You're not going to believe this, but...... I bought this blade in 2004 on sale to replace the OEM blade that came on my Table Saw. This blade made perfectly smooth cuts on Oak, Cherry and Cedar without so much as a tooth mark: cross cut or rip cut. After about 2 years of casual use, it started to leave a fuzzy edge so I bought the WWII to replace it. I was not impressed- the WW blade left very subtle tooth marks (on the same saw and set up mind you) that were visible when holding the cut towards a light. Not drastic, but subtle. The WW required much more feed pressure and vibrated pretty bad when cutting.
I cleaned the pitch off the Freud with a brass brush and blade cleaner, and it was back to normal. Freud blade cut with less vibration and less feed pressure than the WWII. While I was not impressed with the $100bWWII, I can recommend this LU82M010 blade all day long. It is very impressive for a $30 blade. This is a Triple Chip blade according to the Freud catalog. I also notice that the picture of this blade does not show the laser cut anti-vibration slots my blade has (the long s-shaped cuts).

....master of none. This blade has all the great aspects of a typical Freud blade - quality carbide, well built, anti-vibration slots, lifetime warranty, etc. It does alot of things reasonably well, but isn't particular strong in any regard, other than the TCG teeth are more durable than other grinds. Several of Freud's other general purpose blades crosscut better, rip more efficiently, have faster feedrates, and are generally more versatile. Being that it's full kerf, it also bogs the motor on my saw more than many others. I just can't find an application that gives this blade any advantages over others in my shop. I much prefer the LU86, LU88, and even the LU84.

I find this blade to do an excellent job in my table saw. I have had many Freud blades in the blast and they have all been good.
